Is this too common?

Is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] too common a middle name? I was thinking of using it as a middle for [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] as [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] is rare for a girl, I thought simple and feminine [name_f]Rose[/name_f] may even it out. Opinions?

[name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

Definitely too common. It is just as common as [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] etc.

It can be commonly used as a middle name but also as a double barrelled name.

It is a beautiful name but it is far too similar. If you really love that name you could use a similar name such as [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].

Unfortunately I find it to be a very common middle name - alongside [name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_u]Lee[/name_u], [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] etc.
I like the suggestion of an alternative ‘rose’ name! Or keep looking, as I’m sure there are many feminine names that go with [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].

Thank you  unfortunately, I only like the simple [name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs any variants of it, but I’ll look at some more uncommon, feminine middles too!

I think it is quite plain as a middle name, but I do see your reasoning if you’re planning to use it with [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].

I’m not a huge fan of [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] on a girl (not a big fan of bnog trend in general). I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] pairs fairly well will it. You could consider using a another fairly simple name that you like which could be used to make initial based nicknames e.g. [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] [name_u]June[/name_u] nn EJ.

I don’t think being super common is a bad quality in a middle name - [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is sweet and beautiful, no wonder so many people use it! It balances out [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] quite well.

You could even find another simple name that means [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

I’m so sorry that it’s such a popular name. I think it’s also very simple too. You could go with a simple/sophisticated name.

It’s very common, but I feel like Rose is usually a filler name that compliments the full name, which is okay in my opinion. It’s like using the name Amelia Rose, Rose just makes the name that much prettier and it wouldn’t be the same without it. That’s what I think.

I agree! I hate saying that about the name but it’s always either always part of a double barrelled name or a middle name.

Thank you!

classics , with rare exceptions, cant really become too popular. Thats why they are classic. Trendy classics…lets call them…like [name_u]Noah[/name_u]…are bad. But [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is perfect. never been too popular, but a recognized classic. For first or middle name, its terrific.

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a very popular middle name but I don’t think that should put you off of using it: [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] strike a perfect balance between the two styles, and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]'s popularity somewhat works in your favour.

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very common as middle name. But I have it on my list to balance out a more unique first name that way if she decides she Wants a more common name she has other options

Yes, it’s common. But being popular doesn’t make a name bad or undesirable. If you love [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and find it meaningful, I think you should stick with it.

Thank you… I’m so torn!

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] is quite common for a girl, and it seems to be especially common for a girl’s middle around NB. In light of that, perhaps you should save it for a boy (since you are using a traditionally male name for a girl)

I agree that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a fairly common middle name, but I could imagine using it myself. It is a strong, pretty, classic name and I still enjoy it even though others have it. I wouldn’t want to pick something I liked less.
