[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
So, recently I was struck with [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] as a middle name. I love crazy middles, and this is on Nameberry. But, more importantly, it’s the surname of an author that I love, whose books have been a big part of my life. Plus, it’s after [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u], who I don’t know a ton about but is definitely the type of strong female role model that a girl should have (obviously, this is hypothetical). So, what are your thoughts on [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u]?
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] as a middle name!
It makes me think of the pornstar, honestly. I actually only know about her because I remember seeing that there was a movie made about her on Netflix a few years ago. It’s all I’ve been able to associate with the name since then, and I didn’t even watch it [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] is a nice association though, and will probably be what most people think of when they hear it. I would keep it in the middle, personally.
[name_f]Maud[/name_f] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u]? I love the [name_f]Betsy[/name_f]-[name_f]Tacy[/name_f] books, nice to see another fan I think it would be an okay middle, especially as an honor name.
Okay, I’m glad you responded to this, because I had no idea about that ! Thank you!
@findemaxa13- Yessss! That’s the author I’m speaking of!
Tacy!!!
I love [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] as a middle! I think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] is a nice namesake too.
If you’re still unsure, there’s also [name_u]Love[/name_u], [name_u]Loveday[/name_u], [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], & [name_f]Beloved[/name_f]!
I love it! I think it works well as a middle. I have a soft spot for “[name_u]Loveday[/name_u]”.
Lovelace is a lovely middle choice. Elegant and powerful
Tacy is such a great nickname, right? And a wonderful character.
This probably says more about me than it does about the name [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] but my first association with it is the penguin guru from [name_f]Happy[/name_f] Feet I can see the appeal of it and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] is a terrific namesake, but I don’t think I’d use it personally. I quite like the suggestion of [name_u]Loveday[/name_u].
I think it’s lovely as a middle name! [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] has a very interesting history if you enjoy researching people.
Definitely not too crazy. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] is a fabulous namesake for a modern girl, and I’ve always thought that [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] has a beautiful sound. Plus, you’re using it as a mn and not a fn, so you don’t need to worry.
I think it’s a great middle name! If you think it’s too out there, you could always just use [name_u]Love[/name_u] or [name_f]Lace[/name_f] as the middle name. You could always play around with it too and do a name like “[name_f]Lacey[/name_f] (first name) [name_u]Love[/name_u] (middle name)”.
I think it would be a fantastic middle name! I’m a little biased, because my OH chose it as part of their new name when they transitioned. They are a multi-disciplinary engineer, and they definitely chose it as a nod to [name_f]Ada[/name_f]!
I think it’s great. I’m pretty sure [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] chose the name herself and I would just love to know the story behind that. I love imagining name nerds from former times!
Lovelace would be a great middle name! I also love [name_f]Maud[/name_f] [name_m]Hart[/name_m] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u], so maybe I’m a little biased, but I think it sounds really pretty and elegant. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] is also a great namesake. It’s definitely not too crazy
I think it’s great, and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] is a wonderful woman to honor. Her middle name likely won’t be used that much unless she wants to use it, so I’d say it’s low risk.
I love the [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] connotation but I would worry that lots of people would think of the porn star [name_f]Linda[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] - [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] Seyfried played her in a film - called [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] - a few years ago which might have brought her name to a wider audience.
