Recently, the tradition of having three names became popular in my family.
I chose [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f], “[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]”. I like all these names because they are so different. But it it too long?
Personally for me it is too long, especially when you add the surname to that. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra is beautiful. What caught my eye, is that you said recent tradition. I am wondering if this is more of a thing, for lack of a better word, than a tradition (that could lead to a tradition if everyone follows). [name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about using two middle names? Asking if this is too long, makes you think that you are not totally comfortable with this.
I do love long names but in the end find myself putting a shorter name in between, otherwise it gets tongue-twisting.
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f] is not too long, at least not for my taste (the more the better while still having some flow), but I do have a problem with more than two long names, syllable-wise, in a row.
While a combo like that might definitely be too long for you if you already worry with this one but I think I’d find something like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f], easier to say, since the short name breaks the heavy names up a bit.
I like it! But then I really like long names and my name is quite long so I’m used to it.
I recently encountered someone with 4 middle names. So no, this is not too long, at least not for me… If you want to make it seem less long, change the middle names. Now you have three pretty hefty names in a row. If you would change that to (for example) [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_u]Gabby[/name_u] Alyssandra or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f] it changes the flow in the names and it makes it seem less of a mouth full.
I think it’s a lovely sounding name. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter ended up with two middle names and the only downside to having a longer name is that on a lot of forms/tickets/membership cards the second names are cut off or absent altogether : (
No need to type!
What about [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Alys[/name_f] [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f]?
Yes, I’d say more of a thing that my generation of couisins started. I think I’ll drop the [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f] and stick to [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra, because “Alyssandra” has my name, [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f], in it! ![]()
Its a bit of a mouthful.
I would change one of those middles to something shorter for a better cadence.
Normally traditions are enjoyed and looked forward to. It seems that often times naming traditions do not feel that way. I think you need to do what you feel comfortable with. In this case I wouldn’t worry at all about not following along. And I’ll say it again, [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra is beautiful. Wonderful combo.
I personally think it’s kind of long, but if that’s what you like or is the tradition of your family, than it’s awesome! When it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
It’s a beeeeautiful name, btw.
I think it’s pretty long. I would not like writing [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f] on my documents, especially not with a last name. It was long just to type. Maybe [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f]? Or maybe just use a shorter middle name with one of them, like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Gavrielle[/name_f] or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Alyssandra [name_f]Grace[/name_f]?
