Is this too much? šŸ˜”

My favourite name for a girl during my first pregnancy was [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. I still am madly in love with the name and really want to use it if we have another girl, but are [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] too much together?

I had never heard of the fruit connection until I first researched the name years ago, and I have never really heard it mentioned in conversation, but I’m sure most people are aware of the fruit connection…

I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] would be a really cute sibset. I don’t see the food association when I look at these names, I just look at them and think that they’re beautiful names. Some people would definitely think of the food right off the bat, but that wouldn’t bother me too much if I loved the name. [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are much less obvious than [name_f]Apple[/name_f] or Pear lol

I think they are fine together.

I think of the fruit connection… However, I actually like them together. To me they are perfectly paired as siblings because of their style and not because of the association.

I think they are great as a sibling set. Vintage charm, spunky, friendly, happy, and sunny.

I think they sound great together and the connection is cute rather than off-putting.

I have both [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] on my list, I plan on using both! I’d use them!

It’s very wordy to me and I definitely caught the fruit association… my first thoughts with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f] have always been food though. It’s by no means a terrible set but it’s not my favorite.

I see them both as names first, so i think they coukd work

It’s feels very wordy and very theme-y. I would expect a third sister to be called [name_f]Plum[/name_f] and I wouldn’t be surprised if people (not just children) made rude comments and ā€œjokesā€ about them both having food names. I think for most people who are not name nerds, they won’t see these as vintage names but rather just as words.

It’s cute! Not too cutesy but still fun

Thank you all for your replies! I think [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are wonderful together, but my first association with them has always been as a name and not a fruit…I think those that have pointed out the fact that non-name nerds will probably see the fruit connection First is what I’m worried about. I usually don’t worry about what people think, so I’m considering still using [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] if it is the right name at Birth despite the potential comments, but I’m really not sure…

I never even knew there was a connection. They’re good together!

They sound really sweet together.

Ditto to this.

They definitely make me think of the fruit, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I know sisters [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], and they clearly are all flowers, but so what?

I’m confused by this thread. Fruit connection?
ā€ Well I didn’t know olives were fruit but I guess that’s what they must be lol. FOOD connection on the other hand… Yes [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] clearly stand out as foods (I am from the US) and someone surely will make a joke at some point about a third baby needing to be named some other kind of food. But it’s not unusable and I know several families in real life with apparently themed kids names similar to that. Go ahead and use it if you love that name and don’t mind many people thinking aww cute food sibs.

They’re cute. To me, it sounds sophisticated.

I don’t think it’s too much. It’s similar to naming daughters [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f], or [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].
