Is this weird?

Hello Berries

[name_m]Ive[/name_m] been wondering if A) Having two middle names is weird B) If using the same middle name twice is even weirder? For example.......

  [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u]
  [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Loveday[/name_u]

BTW how does these names sound to you guys, Thanks

They sound fine but I personally wouldn’t do it. I’d prefer to give my kids names that have more subtle connections.

I know a lot of people on here like two middles, so I don’t think it’s weird. Inconvenient for the wearer, maybe, but only if they’re all really long. When there’s a short middle name as one, I think it’s better.

I would find it weird if sisters shared a middle, but it’s not a bad thing. If you’re going to do it, though, it might be better to have them be in a different order like: [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Loveday[/name_u].

Two middle names isn’t all that weird. I have two middle names.

While I personally wouldn’t want to repeat names, it’s not totally uncommon for families to have one middle that’s given to all the girls or boys.
If it’s not a family name then maybe a little odd.

a) I don’t think having two middle names is weird at all! It’s not usually my personal preference, although I’ve seen some gorgeous two middle combos on here. But I definitely don’t think it’s strange.

b) For siblings, I wouldn’t do it. I just don’t love super match-y sibling names in general, and sharing whole parts of their name would be too much for me. I know some people do it with meaningful family names, though, which does make sense to me. But even then I’d probably only have them share one middle, not both if I was doing two. If this is just for playing around with combos rather than for real siblings, I see no issue with it at all!

c) I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and I adore [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (although I prefer it as a first). I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] too, although [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] (which sadly doesn’t sound its best in my accent) is really my favorite part of it. [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] and [name_u]Loveday[/name_u] are really cool middles! [name_u]Loveday[/name_u] is a bit rhyme-y with [name_f]Mae[/name_f], but not a dealbreaker.

i don’t see a problem with having two middles, it can be a good way to incorporate an honour name or family name as well as adding a name that you actually really love or having one safe name and a more unique one.

Two middles: not weird at all

Using same name twice: I find it weird but I’ve seen people who have done that, so probably fine

I don’t think it’s weird but there are so many lovely names to pick from that I’d feel a little disappointed to share a name with my sibling etc

My middle name is the same as all 5 of my siblings, but it is my mom’s maiden name so it makes more sense in my opinion, as she kept her maiden name and my parents wanted us to have both surnames incorporated. I wouldn’t do it personally.

Gorgeous names and a sweet connection between sisters

Not my style. Seems overwrought to me, personally.

I don’t think 2 middles is weird, but often times the second middle is dropped on legal forms and school forms etc. as for repeating middles I wouldn’t do it (because there’s so many great names out there!) but I wouldn’t think it was weird. I know multiple families who share middles

I personally wouldn’t suggest using two middle names unless they are family names that are very dear to you/your family. Otherwise, it can sound like just a run on of names versus having a flow to it.

I love two middles, so that in itself doesn’t seem odd to me, but I am not a huge fan of repeating names? I know a family who have 3 girls and they all have the middle name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. For me, I’d prefer to at least use different variants, like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Liv[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f], or something, because it at least feels different? But I can see the appeal of [name_f]Mae[/name_f] in both combos. I think [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u]/Loveday makes it even worse, though, honestly, since they themselves are even so similar? [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Loveday[/name_u] are lovely in their own right, but I don’t think I’d use them for sisters. Sorry! Maybe something more like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] or something along those lines?

Good luck!
