Is Van der Berke a name?

Hello

I know that [name_u]Van[/name_u] der Berken is, but is [name_m]Berke[/name_m]? I am really hoping to choose thing and acknowledge it being Dutch, I find it looking beautiful and sounding uniquely strong. But I can’t seem to find it anywhere, and I do not want to pick a name that either doesn’t exist or makes no sense.

Please help, and thank you all

[name_m]Berke[/name_m] is not a name, as far as I know (I’m familiar with Dutch culture etc.). I’m not saying it can’t be used, nature names are a thing in the Netherlands, but [name_m]Berke[/name_m] is not one I’ve heard.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] to add to what the previous poster said, I looked at a database and [name_m]Berke[/name_m] has been a name in the Netherlands since the 2000s, albeit a rare one (roughly 5 births every year), but that could also be partly because there are some hits on Google for Turkish footballers, so it could be a thing among the Turkish minority. However, Nature name + -e has been a bit of a naming fad as well in the Netherlands among especially middle class parents, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just one of those happy coincidences where Turkish names and modern Dutch naming trends coincide.

Are there any beautiful names such as [name_m]Berke[/name_m] but Dutch?

I had a look at a Frisian site which might have the same Dutch aesthetic you’re going for and found these - [name_m]Berke[/name_m] is actually also listed among these names, I suppose in terms of actual usage it just happens to be very rare

Albe
[name_m]Arjen[/name_m] (this is a pretty well established name)
[name_m]Eben[/name_m]
[name_m]Elger[/name_m]
Falke
Hylke
Michiel (also well established, if a bit dated by now in the Netherlands but might be given new life due to actor Michiel Huisman)
Reyn
Skelte
Sybren
Taeke
Wybren

Other Dutch(-ish, as in I haven’t verified their exact origin but I am certain of their usage)

[name_m]Carsten[/name_m]
[name_m]Koen[/name_m]/[name_m]Coen[/name_m] (actually an archaic Dutch word for ‘courageous’ and a very common name)
[name_m]Jeroen[/name_m] (like [name_m]Koen[/name_m], but arguably a bit more dated)
[name_m]Maes[/name_m]
Marnix
Mauk

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!
