Is Vivian a classic name?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you perceive [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] as being a classic comparable to names like [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] or grace?

Yes, definitely

No, I’d consider it a more recent revival of an old name. I like it though.

I wouldn’t consider it a classic but it is definitely a name is being used more and more nowadays.

I do think it’s classic. It’s actually one of my favorites.

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a true classic, since it has been in constant use since at least the Middle Ages.
[name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] and its variants are also classics (although the Irish form isn’t as old as [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]).

[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is certainly an old name but I wouldn’t call it a true “classic”: it was never a common name in English-speaking countries. In fact, since St [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] was a dude, the name was always more common for men.

I’m not sure about classIC but I think it sounds classY

I think it has a very beautiful sound but it’s still slightly more “exotic” than [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] imo.

I think it is a classic

I tend to think of [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] as the classic version of this name. More exotic than [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] but similar is classic-ness. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] always strikes me as a more masculine and therefore more modern version of the name and thus not as classic. (I hope that sort of makes sense somewhere)
