I always thought of it as a classic but now I am not so sure.
No, I don’t think so. It is classic. I always think of the actress who played [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] O’[name_f]Hara[/name_f]. Which isn’t a bad association.
Depends on where you live I suppose. In the UK the spelling [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] was uncommon until [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] chose it for her daughter in 2008. So I would say it is quite trendy. However, I don’t think that makes it a bad name or a bad choice.
No matter how popular it gets, I will say it’s a classic.
I don’t think so, I think it’s more classic. I like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], it’s very pretty!
I have a friend named [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] but always thought the ending spelling looked a bit… Harsh. I don’t know why, but the -an made it oh so much more of a bold-sounding name for me. When I discovered [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], I always thought of it as a great feminine, vintage-type name. I don’t know any or know of any Viviennes though. I don’t think it’s too trendy at all. In fact, I always think it should be used more.
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] has a long and significant history of use, so it is classic. It is also gaining in popularity of late. The [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] spelling jumped in 2008 after the [name_f]Jolie[/name_f]-[name_m]Pitt[/name_m] was born, and both spellings are on the rise with no sign of losing steam. I think [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] / [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] will become even more popular. 2015 SSA stats had around 4000 girls if you combine spellings which would put it around top 50. However, trendiness to me means a “flash in the pan” where a name quickly gains popularity and quickly tumbles back down the charts. I can’t envision [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] tumbling back down due to its classic history and broad appeal. So I think it will become ever more popular but probably not highly trendy. One potential drawback shared by trendy names and classic names that have regained popularity is they can all time stamp a person somewhat. Catina is 43. Sarah is probably between the ages of 10 and 40. The datedness just isn’t as precise with popular classics. Finally, to be completely unhelpful, only you and OH can determine whether a name is “too” popular or trendy because it is up to you to set those parameters. But I can easily envision [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] in the Top 20 in 2026.
It’s definitely growing in popularity, but I don’t think it’s too popular not to use.
It’s a classic
[name_m]Way[/name_m] too trendy
I think that [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a classic, but that [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is even more so
I say [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] differently than [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. I didn’t think it was that trendy.
We have a [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. We have yet to meet another.
My 3 month old is [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]! I don’t know any others
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is gorgeous!!! So classic and beautiful. I much prefer [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] to [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Vivianne[/name_f].
To me, it’s a trendy classic! It was on my husband’s list for a girl, but we ended up going for a different V name, because I felt [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] was a bit trendy.
There’s no denying it is beautiful. My friend named her daughter [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and doesn’t care at all that it’s super trendy.
I do not think that [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is too trendy. I think it still is classical and absolutely gorgeous. I would say go for it!
I would not say that [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a trendy name.
