Got this idea from a link Nameberry shared on FB. [name_u]Windsor[/name_u] for a little girl. I love the nickname possibility of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]! I love that it’s super unique. I love the way it pairs with an ultra-feminine classic (I’m thinking [name_u]Windsor[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]). I don’t love that it is so closely tied with the royal family.
What do you think? Is this name actually wearable? Does it fit with my boys’ names of [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]Derrick[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious!
I’d think you were a royalty buff for sure. Especially if you used the middle name [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. The [name_u]Win[/name_u]-names seem to be coming up more and more after the celebrity [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] was born. Windor, [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] have been popping up on forums. I wouldn’t choose [name_u]Windsor[/name_u], but I do love the nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. Choose a different route to it? With [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Callum[/name_m], I like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]…
I like [name_u]Windsor[/name_u] (more so for a boy) but pairing it with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] sounds very cheesy and try-hard. People already think ‘royal’ when they hear [name_u]Windsor[/name_u] so I would steer clear of any other names tied to the [name_u]Brit[/name_u] royals.
You could try other “win” names like [name_f]Winsome[/name_f] or [name_f]Winslet[/name_f].
Ugh, I hate [name_f]Winona[/name_f]. Probably my favorite suggestion here is [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].
Anyway, I am definitely not a royalty buff and didn’t even think about the connection (DUH). [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is my grandmother’s name and will most likely be the mn for a daughter if I ever have one. So yeah, definitely not using [name_u]Windsor[/name_u]. Thanks for pointing that out everyone!
