Isaac or Zachary?

I’m looking for a full name to pair with the NN [name]Zac[/name]. [name]Zachary[/name] is okay, but I feel like it’s a little dated. [name]Do[/name] you think it is? I’ve contemplated using it as a NN for [name]Isaac[/name], but some have told me that it doesn’t quite work. Which name would you pair [name]Zac[/name] with?

I adore the name [name]Isaac[/name] but really like [name]Zachary[/name] too. [name]Zachary[/name] nn [name]Zac[/name] sounds best but there’s no reason why [name]Isaac[/name] wouldn’t work.

I think [name]Isaac[/name] would be the best choice, as I agree [name]Zachary[/name] feels dated. Have you considered something like [name]Zaccheus[/name] or [name]Zacharias[/name]?

I like [name]Zachary[/name] better, but I can see how [name]Zac[/name] would work for [name]Isaac[/name]. It has the sound right there.

Others:

[name]Zachariah[/name]
[name]Zacheus[/name] (zach–ee-us) like the bible tax collector but i don’t know how to spell it

Razac – arabic – a devoted man
Sachetan – Sanskrit – animated
Sachiel – Hebrew – archangel (these last 2 might have the CH sound instead of the CK sound, but I think [name]Zac[/name] could still work since the sound is still pretty similar and I’ve seen weird nicknames)

Isacar – Hebrew – he was given for a favor
[name]Pesach[/name] – Hebrew – Passover
Treasach – Gaelic – warlike

I still like [name]Zachary[/name] better than these others, but you might like them

My cousin’s son is named [name]Isaac[/name] and we call him [name]Zack[/name], so it definitely works! That being said though, I always wondered why they didn’t name him [name]Zachary[/name] if that’s what they wanted to call him. My cousin on the other side has a [name]Zach[/name] ([name]Zachary[/name]). I like both.

My son’s name is [name]Isaac[/name] so of course I am gonna say go with that name! We call him [name]Ike[/name] for short. His cousin is named [name]Zachary[/name] and goes by [name]Zach[/name] or Zachy. I like both names and although [name]Isaac[/name] is being used more right now I don’t feel [name]Zachary[/name] is outdated yet.

I hear [name]Isaac[/name] enough that I’d be pleasantly suprised to meet a little [name]Zachary[/name].

Yep, I prefer [name]Isaac[/name] as well. [name]Zachary[/name] sounds quite dated to me, as where I live it was VERY popular in the nineties. I grew up with an [name]Isaac[/name] nn [name]Zac[/name] and the nickname worked fine.

I love [name]Zachary[/name]! It doesn’t feel dated to me at all. In fact, I know two little boys named [name]Zachary[/name]. That being said, if you prefer [name]Isaac[/name], I think [name]Zac[/name] would work just fine as a nickname.

[name]Zachary[/name] gets my vote  one of my favourite boys names always has been.

I prefer [name]Isaac[/name] & think [name]Zac[/name] works fine as a nn

I vote [name]Zachary[/name], it doesn’t feel dated to me. But there is a good chance he won’t know many other [name]Zachary[/name]'s, and the nn will flow easily where with [name]Isaac[/name] it may not.
