Hello we have a little girl called [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. If we were to have another little girl we are really stuck on first names.
Other names we like are [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. We both love [name_f]Isla[/name_f] but because of how similar it is to [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] are unsure although phonetically it sounds very different. Middles would be [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u].
I would consider spelling [name_f]Isla[/name_f] as [name_f]Eila[/name_f] but husband is not sure. Any other suggestions?
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] is very similar to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] on paper, but not in sound. I think spelling [name_f]Isla[/name_f] as [name_f]Eila[/name_f] would definitely solve that problem! [name_f]Eila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Eila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Willow[/name_u] both sound lovely.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] @Suziegrace, welcome to Nameberry
All of the names on your list are lovely.
If [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is your favourite (which it sounds to me like it is) then I think you should go for it! As @foeva said, the similarity is only on paper, there is no risk of them getting mixed up when spoken aloud. Personally, I find the [name_f]Isla[/name_f] spelling more appealing than [name_f]Eila[/name_f].
You might like the Welsh name [name_f]Eira[/name_f] (AY-ra), meaning “snow”. Or maybe [name_f]Orla[/name_f] “golden princess”. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_u]Willow[/name_u] feel like good first name options too, unless they’re honour names you specifically want in the middle.
Others you might like, some more unusual than others…
[name_f]Eila[/name_f] would solve the issue but i think with [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] I’d go with [name_f]Eva[/name_f].
There’s also [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as a kind of blend between [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f] also came to mind
Thankyou! I love orla but has been used by a friend so not sure could use it. Also like [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] a lot but again we call [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] ‘[name_f]Bella[/name_f]’ and [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] might be ‘[name_f]Ella[/name_f]’
Middle names [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is to remember my mum. The others we just liked so maybe [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] might be an option! X
I don’t think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] sound too similar. They sound great together! Here are some of my suggestions:
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Addie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
