Isabella Sophia or Isabella Beatriz?

Interesting enough, my daughter’s name is [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] :two_hearts: and my son’s name is [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]. :blue_heart:

When I think of a good combination, I find myself thinking of two main points:

[name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] = Greek, just like [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].

[name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] and [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] = Classical literature, just like [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f].

I find myself also wanting to pair [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] but unfortunately while [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is a name that is not only popular but also traditional in here, BeatriCE never had a chance because of the fact that it has a solid and beautiful translation: [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]. :purple_heart:

That makes a lot of sense! But makes it more annoying to not be able to use [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]!

And [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is gorgeous! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] are some of my favorite names in [name_m]Brazil[/name_m], topped only by [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]! [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] is gorgeous as well. I can see why you’re struggling so much between [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]! All the best with your decision (and hopefully you have some time to settle into the perfect choice!).

As a name on its own I prefer [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] as I’ve always loved [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] however I think with [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] I strongly prefer [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] is just stunning such a gorgeous princess name that captures everything you want in a name. I’m in love with this name!

[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] feels very feminine, gentle and sweet. I think [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] feels almost the exact same way. [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] feels a bit more colourful and fun. It makes for a nice combination! Plus I think it flows better, though that’s not to say that [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] doesn’t sound nice together. :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh okay, that makes more sense why you like it. I definitely was thinking the ‘z’ would make it sound harsh. It’s much prettier in Portuguese.

I’m still struggling a lot with these two combinations and I don’t have much time left to decide…

If someone could help me by making a list of pros and cons of these two names I would really be grateful! :broken_heart::pensive_face:

I’ll confess something here. I’m actually a little scared of Sophia being “oh, another Sophia?” even if it’s the middle name… and even if I don’t really care about this “popularity” thing. Popular names often become popular for a reason: they’re good names. But I have never seen a specific name having such a meteoric ascension all over the world… could someone help me a bit with my anxiety? :sob:
