I’ve posted about this name before but I’m looking for more input. My husband loves it, I like it and my family hates it. What do you think? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any suggestions? [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] ([name_f]Ivy[/name_f]) Campo
I think it’s a great name! [name_u]Unique[/name_u], elegant, and lovely. I like [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] by itself but I think it’s very inventive to use the initials to make the name [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]!
I love isadora But I always think of the kids to show wizadora when I say it. I still love it though but the theme song comes into my head when I say it lol.
[name_m]Ive[/name_m] stated before thay I’m not a fan of [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]. I think you should use it if you and your husband love it. Ignore the family.
I do like it, but it is by no means my first choice. It is the only name he loves. If I was in love with out like he is there’d be no question but I guess I’m still a bit on the fence about it
Honestly, I’m not sure if I love it are there any other names you guys love? If you guys love it, then go for it though!
I like it. Family will get used to it, once they see a sweet baby and that’s the name it’ll grow on them.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] @weekstwin,
I genuinely admire the name [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] for it’s feminine strength and regal elegance. I am even more impressed that your husband loves it!
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] is a unique combination of power and delicacy. I do prefer the neglected spelling [name_f]Isidora[/name_f], though, as it feels a bit more authentic.
I commented on your previous thread about how much I love this name and also the nickname [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] that you get from the initials with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a middle name.
I think you should try to disregard the fact that your family doesn’t like it, though I can totally understand why doing so would be hard when you only “like” but are not 100% sure about the name. I think you deserve to also feel excited about the name you are giving your daughter, so if YOU have reservations about it, then it is definitely fair to consider other options, and get your husband to suggest some other possibilities you can both agree on. But if you think it’s just the negative feedback from family that is keeping you from wanting to use it, well, you can counter that with lots of positive feedback from Nameberry Also, in almost every case like this that I’ve heard of the family changes their mind once the sweet little one is actually named (or at least has the good sense/good manners not to say differently).
I also wonder how much you think you’ll end up using [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as a nickname. If you only like [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] but you love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], then that could be the perfect solution. You could also consider other nicknames, like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], [name_f]Dora[/name_f], or [name_u]Dory[/name_u] and see if those make the name seem more appealing to you.
To sum up, I think your family’s opinion shouldn’t matter, but YOURS should. Good luck!
[name_u]Love[/name_u], love, love it! Such a beautiful, unique name that is familiar but not overly used.
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is gorgeous and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a perfect nickname
