Thoughts please on this Persian variant of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], as a first or middle name?
It’s intriguing…not in a good or bad way, to me at least. I think it would make a great middle and could certainly work well as a first too. Would you use a nickname?
I really like Iskandar. Skandar’s one of my favourites, so I like the sound. It’s unusual here, but easy to say, and not too difficult to spell.

@jtay07 I’d be much more likely to use it as a middle as it’s quite a bit longer than my other kids’ names, but I quite like Skandar for a nickname.
I’ve been a fan of Iskandar for years! I even considered it for my first child (who turned out to be a [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] 
). I think it’s very handsome and strong yet romantic.
P. S. The Persians called [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] the Great Iskandar, didn’t they?
