Isla and Esme?

Are [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f] too close for a sibset?

Part of me says yes and part of me says no so I feel your confusion. If I had to choose, I think they’d work

I think they have a similar vibe and that’s where the confusion comes from. I think they are fine as siblings.

They sound nice together!

Perfectly acceptable sibset in my opinion

I love both [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f], both are in my Top names and I think they work really well together.

They’re a bit too tongue twister-y for me but they sound fine as siblings.

I think they’re fine together since the S in [name_f]Isla[/name_f] is silent. They do have a similar vibe, but in a good way.

[ajla] and [ezmi] don’t really share any sounds at all. The only think they have in common is being 4 letters long and having an “s” as the second letter. The absolutely work as sisters!

I pronounce them eye-la ([name_f]Isla[/name_f]) and ez-may ([name_f]Esme[/name_f]) if that makes a difference

I absolutely love both names and think they make a great sibset!

I think they work well together. They look a little similar, but they sound completely different.

They look similar and sound different, but I don’t think they’re too close.

Maybe! Try yelling them out together and see how it feels.

They have some similarities yes, they are both 4 letters, beginning and ending with vowels, with an S as the second letter, but they are pronounced very differently. I think they are fine together as siblings.

Thanks everyone!

No! I think they sound great together!

I think they sound fine as siblings.

They don’t sound similar but they do look similar.

I think they work because they are similar - as in short and sweet but the sounds in each name don’t clash or anything. In the UK I know lots of siblings with similar names such as [name_f]Ava[/name_f] & [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] & [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f] & [name_f]Ava[/name_f] etc.
