My husband and I have settled on [name]Isla[/name] for our first daughter. We”re now trying to decide on a middle name. He really likes [name]Grace[/name] and I would like something related to [name]Anne[/name] ([name]Grace[/name] works since [name]Anne[/name] means [name]Grace[/name], as I”ve recently learned). I would really like a name that is unlikely to become too popular. I love [name]Imogene[/name] and [name]Verity[/name]. We”re open to the idea of two middle names.
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - I imagine there will be a lot of little girls with the name [name]Isla[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. If this doesn’t bother you, it is pretty.
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Verity[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - Really nice flow but since both [name]Verity[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] are both word names it ends up sounding very pious to me.
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Imogene[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - I love this! I would spell it [name]Imogen[/name] (and I pronounce it imo-jin rather than gene). Nice flow and I like the repetition of the Is and Gs.

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Roseanne[/name]
Thanks gwen’smom! You make some excellent points. I hadn’t considered the fact that [name]Verity[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] were both word name. I guess I got so hung up on favourite names I missed something rather obvious. I also prefer [name]Imogen[/name] now that I look at it.
[name]Just[/name] a note on the popularity of [name]Isla[/name]. I think it’s now in the 600s. 2008 was the first time, however, it appeared in the charts. Thats over a 400 spot jump in the rankings in one year. So it’s not too popular now, but it’s going to become very popular.
[name]Amara[/name] also means [name]Grace[/name] and would work well as a second middle. [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] are VERY popular middle names.
