Isley

What do you think of Isley? It reminds me of the Isley Brothers but I think it could be a really cute girls name too. Ever heard of anyone with this as a first name?

I assumed it was pronounced EYE-lee. I think it would cause some confusion

Interesting! I don’t think its related to [name_f]Isla[/name_f] or [name_u]Island[/name_u] and is more coming from the surname but I suppose it could be either way. [name_f]Isla[/name_f] causes confusion with the people [name_m]Ive[/name_m] mentioned it to lol.

I also assumed it would be pronounced like [name_f]Isla[/name_f]! but hearing the actual pronunciation definitely makes me like [name_f]Isley[/name_f] more!!

Oh, I voted thinking it’s pronounced eye-lee. Still nice name but can be confusing sometimes

I like [name_f]Isley[/name_f], but prefer [name_f]Islay[/name_f].

ETA: Oh, yeah, with Isla’s popularity I would never have guessed the “S” would be pronounced. If you’re open to EYE-lee I think [name_f]Isley[/name_f] is cute. But ISS-lee/IZ-lee I don’t like at all, sorry. Either way, [name_f]Islay[/name_f] is my preference, then [name_f]Isla[/name_f], then [name_f]Isley[/name_f] (EYE-lee).

I also would have guessed EYE-lee for the pronunciation, and I do think I prefer that version, but it’s a sweet name either way!

Its pretty. The first time I said it to myself it reminded me of Mos [name_f]Eisley[/name_f] (Star Wars) probably not a super popular association though, they do look different!
