Interesting - I’ve only ever heard [name_f]Antigone[/name_f] pronounced an-[name_m]TIG[/name_m]-uh-nay (though I suppose the same English teacher is responsible for that as pronounced [name_f]Ismene[/name_f] iz-MEN-ay, so maybe he zigged when he should have zagged?) I totally hadn’t applied [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]'s rules to [name_f]Ismene[/name_f] before, though. Thanks!
And if iss-MEE-nee is the proper pronunciation, I do still adore it but think I’d for sure keep it in the middle name spot - the playground nickname possibilities seem a little too obvious to use it as a first name.
Thanks, all! (And any more opinions/perspectives here would be appreciated too.)
