I prefer the more international [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]; most of your other names are very simple, no need to explain the spelling, they’re known to everyone and tend to be the most popular ([name_f]Lily[/name_f] not [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] or [name_f]Lilie[/name_f]; [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] not [name_f]Sofie[/name_f], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] not [name_m]Henri[/name_m]); [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] just seems to fit in better.

Thank you. What you said makes a whole lot of sense.

I am attracted to the [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] spelling because of my Scottish background. My son’s and my first names are both Scottish. But I also love the [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] spelling. So I am unsure which I prefer.

Thank you, everyone, for the votes.

I prefer [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].

Thank you, everyone.

I have always loved the spelling [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] more.

I voted [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], though it took me a while to actually decipher the difference between the two

I love [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]

I voted for [name_f]Isobel[/name_f].

I’m currently torn two ways with the [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] spelling myself… torn between [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] and the different and spunky [name_f]Izabelle[/name_f], which means beautiful. I think that [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] means ‘devoted to God.’ So I’m in the same boat as you with all the variations.

I have not seen [name_f]Izabelle[/name_f]. Personally for me, I prefer the simpler spelling of names; [name_f]Megan[/name_f] over [name_f]Meghan[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] over [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_m]Ian[/name_m] over [name_m]Iain[/name_m], [name_m]Egan[/name_m] over [name_m]Eagan[/name_m]. Although I prefer the names [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] over [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], although I still adore the later (they are also separate names from each other and pronounced differently). It’s nice we all have our own tastes. Except when your trying to find a name with your spouse.

[name_f]Isobel[/name_f], for sure!

I voted [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. It’s my favorite spelling, and one of my personal favorite names. I see this spelling as more delicate and interesting. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] looks like an overload of “a.” Especially since [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] both have last syllables starting with “e” (I know, I’m getting nitpicky), I like the version that looks the most different from [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. It’s a lovely combo, though [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] flows better in my opinion.

Yesterday I liked [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] slightly more, but today I’m liking [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. They’re both lovely. I think [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] looks prettier, but [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] looks slightly more sophisticated.

While I usually much prefer [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] I think in this case [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] looks better in the full name. Something about the way the A comes through and connects [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] makes it just feel right to me. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

I slightly prefer [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] in your combo. But if you decide honoring your heritage is the way to go there would be no reason to second guess, because [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is also lovely.
