I keep coming back to this name. I absolutely love it but then i think its too politically charged so drop it off the list but like i said, i ALWAYS come back to it. So what is everyones take on the name? We’re in [name_f]England[/name_f] if that makes any difference.
I am personally not fond of [name_m]Israel[/name_m] as a person’s name.
I actually really like it. I think one of the Duggar sisters used it for their little boy recently?
I think it’s very handsome, but also very religious - so I’d find it a little weird if parents who weren’t religious used it, but I don’t see it as unusable.
I like the sound of it but I agree that it’s probably too politically charged. Have you considered the similar [name_m]Ishmael[/name_m]/[name_m]Ismael[/name_m]?
I think it’s a beautiful name. I know of a handful of parents who’ve used it for a son. If you’re worried about it being politically charged, it’d make a lovely middle name.
I’ve actually met someone named [name_m]Israel[/name_m], so I definitely think it works. He was quite religious though, I would find it odd on someone who wasn’t [name_m]Christian[/name_m]/Jewish.
I think it’s a great name! I can’t speak for the U.K., but at least in the U.S. I don’t think anyone would bat an eye at it or think immediately of politics. Beautiful name, and if you love it, then I think you should go for it
I like it. I think it’s totally useable.
It’s a nice name, but I do think it’s very political.
I would expect the family to be really religious, I am not against the name but I still prefer Hz. Ishak/[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]'s real name over [name_m]Israel[/name_m].
[name_m]Israel[/name_m] is a fine name! It’s somewhat always been “politically charged”, but that hasn’t stopped many people from using it. I myself know a couple…one is probably now in his 30s and the other is around 4. I really like it and it does have the the sweet nickname [name_u]Izzy[/name_u].
I think it has a beautiful look/sound, but the political connections are too strong in my opinion. I would put it in the middle spot.
