I was walking with my children in our subdivision’s park this morning and there was a little girl there (probably about 5 or 6ish) with who I assumed was her grandpa and her name was [name]Fig[/name]. My ears perked up when he addressed her because this is my favorite name and I have never seen it used aside from on a character in a book. I’m very happy and just thought I would share.
I really like [name]Fig[/name]! I made a thead about it ages ago and no one seemed very enthused about it. [name]Glad[/name] to see that someone else likes it, and that someone out there has even used it! I’m really curious as to how it’ll wear, because as much as I like it I do think that there’s a lot of teasing potential there. I like it more as a middle name.
[name]One[/name] unfortunate thing that just occurred to me - in the Korean language they don’t have the F or V sound. When encountering a foreign word with these sounds, they tend to get turned into a B sound or a P sound. If [name]Fig[/name] ever travels there, she’ll be Pig.
It’s a pretty idea, but this would be my fear too, that it’s just too close to things like Big, Pig, Dig, Nig, Wig, etc.
