We are looking for italian boy names that won’t get mispronounced. What are your thoughts on [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] and [name_u]Gabriele[/name_u]? We were thinking of these 3 as we like them and think pronunciation is straightforward.
Luca is so fun and fresh!
[name_m]Mateo[/name_m] is really cool too but be prepared for some people to spell it [name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_u]Gabriele[/name_u] is a little hesitant for me. I love the name and it’s meaning, but it does seem the most feminine looking, just as it’s quite similar to [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]. But I think it would be a really cute name.
I really like them all! [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] shouldn’t get mispronounced, and though I can see people being unsure on [name_u]Gabriele[/name_u], it should be an easy correction.
I love all three names! [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] can also be spelled [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], but otherwise, pronunciation and spelling are pretty straight forward. You can’t go wrong with any of these.
I think you could also like [name_m]Rafael[/name_m]
Edit: I’m in a french speaking country and there would be no pronunciation issue here but it may be different somewhere else
Love all of these! [name_u]Gabriele[/name_u] is utterly gorgeous but as you’re talking about mispronunciation, I assume you’re living in an [name_f]English[/name_f]-speaking rather than Italian-speaking community? In which case, I think pronuncation could be a struggle, as people will likely try to pronounce it like [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f].
Luca and [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] on the other hand seem completely straightforward to me. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] also spring to mind.
I agree that the pronunciations of [name_u]Luca[/name_u] and [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] should be straightforward.
As a [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] who is frequently called [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], i think there is a high likelihood of people mispronouning [name_u]Gabriele[/name_u].
I love all three of those names although [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] is definitely my favourite. I also love [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], Niccolo/Nico, [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m], [name_m]Orlando[/name_m], [name_m]Marcelo[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Alessio[/name_m], [name_m]Massimo[/name_m], [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], and [name_m]Franco[/name_m] (although it feels too connected to [name_m]Francisco[/name_m] [name_m]Franco[/name_m]).
