Italian/British/American name needed! help!

We have a boy named [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m].
we have a girl named [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

We find out in two weeks if baby 3 is a boy or girl. I think I found a girl name (Florence) that works equally well with [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] in style and sound that both my husband and I like. [name_m]Boy[/name_m] names? Nothing.

We are both expats. We need a name that kind of works in either [name_f]Italy[/name_f], Europe, U.K. and/or USA.

I’m leaning towards an Italian name, but could also be strongly [name_f]British[/name_f] or European.

I prefer longer names in letters like [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_m]Can[/name_m] have a nickname.

Names that cannot be used:
[name_m]Vincenzo[/name_m]
[name_u]Leo[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Marco[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Paolo[/name_m]
Nicola/Nico

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] will have two middle names, one will be [name_u]William[/name_u].

Names we like, but aren’t convinced about:
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] (not long enough, but love)
[name_m]Marcello[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuele[/name_m]
[name_m]Aurelio[/name_m]
[name_m]Alessio[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_m]Luciano[/name_m] (I like, husband doesn’t)

[name_m]Can[/name_m] you please help? I would love to have a boy name I love going into the next appointment.

Thanks!

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] feel like good options - international and grounded

A few other ideas:

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_u]Emanuel[/name_u]
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Anthony[/name_m] /Antonio
[name_m]Thiago[/name_m]
[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]
[name_m]Christopher[/name_m]

I think [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] kind of works in theory. [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]. Old antique European name, yet familiar.

I just don’t love it yet. :woman_facepalming:t3::woman_facepalming:t3::sob:

[name_m]Orlando[/name_m] is working too. [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Orlando[/name_m]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] in an American city kind of way… lol.

[name_m]Vittorio[/name_m]

Perhaps [name_u]Florian[/name_u] or [name_m]Florent[/name_m]? I agree that [name_u]Florence[/name_u] for a girl is a great match—I adore that name! Maybe a similar one for a boy would suit as well.
Other than those, perhaps…
[name_m]Alexei[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximus[/name_m] / [name_m]Maximillian[/name_m]
[name_u]Killian[/name_u]
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m]

[name_m]Maximus[/name_m]! That could be a contender! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband LOVES [name_m]Roman[/name_m] names, and I love names that have cute nicknames. Also like [name_m]Octavius[/name_m]. Not sure what a nn would be. [name_m]Otto[/name_m]?

Need to try out [name_u]Florian[/name_u]. Not sure how that sits yet with me.

Thanks

[name_m]Otto[/name_m] is great as a nickname, yes! I love that. Perhaps also [name_m]Otis[/name_m], Octi, [name_u]Tavi[/name_u], [name_u]Avi[/name_u], or [name_u]Ocie[/name_u]. And [name_m]Maximus[/name_m], too—so darn cool!!

Oooh, we’re expats in latin [name_u]America[/name_u] and I often look to Italian name lists for names that will work in [name_f]English[/name_f]. Here’s some longer ones that should work in both languages that you might like with [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]:

[name_m]Amadeo[/name_m]
[name_m]Teodoro[/name_m]
[name_m]Elio[/name_m]
[name_m]Santino[/name_m]
[name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_m]Valentino[/name_m]
[name_m]Augustin[/name_m]

It is soooo tricky and I am soooooo picky when it comes to bridging the gap in these names! Like with Theodore/Teodoro; I overwhelmingly prefer the [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] version so would either use that or not at all. With Lorenzo/Laurence- I think [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] is familiar enough historically it stands on its own in all three places. And I like both versions.

I like a lot of the Italian boy names, but when I find I like the [name_f]English[/name_f] version better, I find I can’t use the Italian one. I think my husband (the Italian) would be ok with [name_m]Roman[/name_m] names, or the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] versions.

I like [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but [name_m]Samuele[/name_m] I feel like is just going to be a life of misspellings in U.K./US.

[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]?

Hmmmm. This could be a possibility. It is Renaissance, so goes well with [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]. I’m not sure how well it works with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but it’s definitely European feeling. I like the Italian version of [name_u]Raffaele[/name_u], but what would the nn be?

Right now, the one to beat in my head is

[name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]William[/name_u]

[name_u]Rafe[/name_u]

[name_m]Raphael[/name_m] (nn Rafa/Rapha, like the tennis player)
Also love the suggestion of [name_m]Antonio[/name_m] (or Anthony/Antony) - so cross cultural, tied to [name_f]Italy[/name_f] through the [name_u]Saint[/name_u], but a timeless classic in the [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking world.
Francisco/Francis?

[name_u]Bo[/name_u]
[name_u]Dillon[/name_u]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
[name_u]Lincoln[/name_u]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]

[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] is the first name that I thought of! I’m biased as I have a Max(well) but [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] has the Italian, international, and even slightly regal flair that I think [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] have.

I’ll also suggest:

Alexander/Alessandro
Christian/o
[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]
Edward/Eduardo
Lucian/o
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

A quick update:

We just returned from a quick trip to [name_f]Italy[/name_f], and the only name that is feeling right is [name_u]Luca[/name_u].

So for now the name for us to beat is:

[name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] or
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]William[/name_u]

[name_m]Martin[/name_m] and [name_u]William[/name_u] are two family names. I think they both work, so not sure which we will end up going with.
