I have two daughters - Sofia and Caterina, and we are expecting a third baby, sex currently unknown. I am having a hard time coming up with girl names. Some combinations that I like and would use, of Italian-ish first name and family middle name, include:
Anna Christine - My husband doesn’t like Anna due to a bad association.
Thea Christine - DH doesn’t like Thea
Francesca Jane - Another bad association with Francesca.
These have all been vetoed by DH. Our last name is 4 syllables, beginning with M. I don’t want to repeat initials. After Caterina was born, I realized that my girls had the same first initials as me and my younger sister. I would sort of like to use a name beginning with A or E (Evangeline, goes by Angie) to honor my older sister so that my three girls will have the same first initials as me and my sisters, but this isn’t a deal breaker. Ideas?
[name_f]Ofelia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosina[/name_f] & [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] are names off of my girls list that (I think) are Italian.
[name_u]Andrea[/name_u] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f] are also lovely imo:)
I think that is so sweet to give your daughters the same initials as you and your sisters! I find [name_f]Christine[/name_f] to be pretty similar to [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f], so I would use [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for the middle name.
[name_f]Elisabetta[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - I couldn’t come up with many Italian E names, but this one seems to be made as a sister name for [name_f]Caterina[/name_f], imo.
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - Another option is [name_f]Emiliana[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] flows better.
[name_f]Angelica[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], and [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] would seriously honor [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] nn [name_u]Angie[/name_u] while still being Italian. There’s also the softer [name_f]Angelina[/name_f].
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - This has been one of my top combos for a while, though it’s really Latin not Italian. The more Italian version would be [name_f]Antonella[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] which is also lovely.
[name_f]Annabella[/name_f] or [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names with the option of beautiful [name_f]Bella[/name_f] as a nn.
[name_f]Ariella[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - Not sure on how Italian this one is, but it definitely sounds Italian:) And it’s so charming.
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - This is such a fresh, sweet twist on the common [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], and I think it’s darling!
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]/[name_f]Ariana[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - Getting pretty popular, but still pretty options.
[name_f]Amidala[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - Ok, I know this only works for someone who doesn’t mind the [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars association, but it is gorgeous, right? It is Italian for “beautiful flower” and I don’t think it’s unusable. Goes so well with the simple, more common [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
Probably my favorites are [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] They work well with [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] and [name_f]Caterina[/name_f], I think.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps:)
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t think all are Italian but here are suggestions
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
[name_f]Amira[/name_f] or [name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Elysia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Gia[/name_f]
[name_f]Giada[/name_f]
[name_f]Giana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosana[/name_f]
[name_f]Viviana[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mattea[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
I saw from your signature that one of your daughters is named [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] = [name_f]Anne[/name_f], so like your husband, I’d strongly advise against using [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
Also please bear in mind that [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Johanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Anya[/name_f] are all relatives of [name_f]Anne[/name_f].
