What are your favorite Italian boy names? I’m looking for names that could easily work in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and the U.S. without too much of a pronunciation difference.
I know someone named [name_f]Milano[/name_f] and love it.
I once met an adorable [name_m]Massimo[/name_m].
[name_m]Emiliano[/name_m] ([name_m]Emil[/name_m] or [name_m]Milo[/name_m])!
My favourite is [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]. Closely followed by [name_m]Luka/name_m, [name_m]Alonzo/name_m, [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], and [name_m]Francesco[/name_m].
Thank you! I love all of those suggestions. Keep them coming!
Some good Italian/US recognizable options are:
[name_u]Lucca[/name_u]/[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m])
[name_m]Franco[/name_m]
[name_m]Enzo[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_m]Rocco[/name_m]
[name_m]Mario[/name_m]/[name_m]Luigi[/name_m] - I hear of these names tossed around. I’d still think people would immediately think of the video game duo.
[name_m]Arturo[/name_m]
[name_m]Davide[/name_m]
[name_u]Gabriele[/name_u]
[name_m]Antonio[/name_m]
[name_m]Massimo[/name_m]
[name_m]Tomasso[/name_m]
[name_m]Salvatore[/name_m]
My favorite is [name_m]Benedetto[/name_m]. I love it! (Then again, I love most international forms of [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]/[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]–the [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_m]Benoit[/name_m], the [name_m]German[/name_m] [name_m]Benedikt[/name_m], the Italian [name_m]Benedetto[/name_m]…) My love for it was slightly dampened by the evil [name_m]Benedetto[/name_m] in The [name_m]Count[/name_m] of [name_m]Monte[/name_m] Cristo, but I still like him a lot, and he seems infinitely usable in the US. I wouldn’t think there was too much pronunciation variance between English and Italian? I think [name_u]Luca[/name_u], [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] ([name_m]Emil[/name_m], [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! I think [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] nn [name_m]Leo[/name_m] is fantastic.), [name_m]Maximiliano[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]/[name_m]Leopoldo[/name_m], [name_m]Agostino[/name_m], [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m] (if [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] works, why not [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]? I think Alesso is a cool nn, too), [name_m]Amadeo[/name_m], [name_m]Augusto[/name_m], [name_m]Cosimo[/name_m], [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m], [name_m]Italo[/name_m] (I have actually come across this quite a lot here, so it seems infinitely usable to me!), etc. would be fine. I love [name_m]Giacomo[/name_m], but I’m not sure how usable it is.
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_m]Rafaele[/name_m]
[name_m]Pasquale[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_m]Emil[/name_m]
[name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]
[name_m]Antonio[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Carlo[/name_m]
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]
I like a lot of them! Favourite would be [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], [name_u]Nico[/name_u] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u].
