I’m really liking the name [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
but in italy, where I am from is spelled [name_f]Dafne[/name_f], and pronounced very differently.
Italians would not have any problem pronouncing it as Daf- nee but I was wondering what about the Italian way Dahf- neh for [name_f]British[/name_f] people?
You’ll definitely get it pronounced DAFF-nee (though some people might have heavy accents and say it kind of like DAHF-nee). You’d have to correct people a lot. You could also try Daphna/Dafna?
It would be gut instinct to pronounce daf -nee but if corrected it’s not a difficult pronunciation, but she would probably spend her whole life explaining that it’s pronounced the Italian way
I think it would get pronounced as Daf-nee in [name_u]Britain[/name_u], but if it was corrected, the Italian pn isn’t difficult 
If it was spelt [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers would be inclined to pronounce it DAF-nee. [name_f]Dafne[/name_f] would probably get DAF-neh, though, so you should be fine if you spelt it that way.
To be honest, I think in [name_u]Britain[/name_u] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] will be pronounced the [name_f]English[/name_f] way 99% of the time. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if you say DAHF-neh, a lot of people will just interpret that as DAF-nee in an Italian accent. And some people may genuinely not hear a difference between the two.
