We basically love the middle name [name_m]Apollos[/name_m]. He was a learned, mighty man of God in the [name_m]New[/name_m] Testament, and we love his legacy and the sound of his name. Plus, it matches our other son’s middle name, [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] (named after a grandfather who has passed).
What I’m stumped on is the first name.
[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Apollos[/name_m] (we’d call him [name_u]Bo[/name_u])
or
[name_m]Caius[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] (we’d call him [name_u]Cai[/name_u])
Big brother is [name_m]Job[/name_m] [name_m]Marcellus[/name_m] (we use NN [name_u]Joby[/name_u]), and big sisters Amaré and [name_f]Selah[/name_f].
I also loved [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] ([name_m]Zeke[/name_m]), but DH vetoed.
Oh my, both such handsome names I can see how this is a difficult choice! I think I’d vote for [name_m]Boaz[/name_m]. I love [name_m]Caius[/name_m] for the nickname [name_u]Cai[/name_u], but I am really in love with the unexpectedness of [name_m]Boaz[/name_m]. I also love how [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] goes with your other children’s names (which are also fantastic, by the way!). And my last reason for choosing [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] over [name_m]Caius[/name_m] is the way it flows with the middle name [name_m]Apollos[/name_m]. I don’t appreciate the double s ending of [name_m]Caius[/name_m] [name_m]Apollos[/name_m], tho it is completely doable.
All the best with whatever you choose, it will be wonderful no matter what!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Thank you for your response! I think this thread must have been put up accidentally (by myself) before the other one everyone was commenting on. I apologize for never having seen/known what you said. I like your thoughts, though, and we have decided on [name_m]Boaz[/name_m]. It does go pretty well with the unexpectedness of their names, too, in a way–and [name_u]Bo[/name_u] and [name_u]Joby[/name_u] go so well as cutesy but boyish nicknames, just as Amaré and Sélah are equally whimsical. Thanks again!
