Your whole list is lovely but [name]Bennett[/name] is definitely my favorite! It’s on my own list and I love that it means “blessed”. I think it’s a fresher take on the classic [name]Benjamin[/name] (which is starting to feel a little tired to me). I think it’s perfect.

[name]Elliot[/name] - I like this, but I prefer other -ett names for boys ([name]Everett[/name], [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Bennett[/name], [name]Abbott[/name], etc.). The nns [name]Eli[/name] and [name]Lio[/name]/[name]Leo[/name] are adorable though, and I do like this a lot.

[name]Gordon[/name] - this is nice but it doesn’t seem to have the same amount of charm as the rest of your list. It feels like a middle-aged man’s name to me, but there’s nothing wrong with it. It just wouldn’t be my pick, personally.

[name]Theo[/name] - this has grown on me. I love the fuller [name]Theodore[/name], but I’m not a huge fan of [name]Theo[/name], personally. There’s always been something about it that puts me off. :frowning:

[name]Oliver[/name] - I like it, and it’s so strong and classic, and I would be impressed to meet one… my only problem is that it feels a bit boring. I do like it, but I prefer it as a MN. I actually really like [name]Bennett[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] as a combo.

Good luck!

This was a really hard choice because i honestly love every single one of your names. In the end [name]Theo[/name] won for me but, I think i switched back and forth from [name]Theo[/name] to [name]Elliot[/name] about 10 times lol. Really it would have been a tie between both [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Elliot[/name] for me if I could have voted for both. But, I dont think you could go wrong with any of those names. Congrats on a baby boy

My favorite would be [name]Oliver[/name], if not for its massive popularity. We know three.

[name]Hugo[/name] is my favourite!
I also like [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name] though

I was favoring [name]Oliver[/name] myself but have the exact worry that it’s too popular. Interesting to see other people’s impressions. Keep them coming!

[name]Elliot[/name] is my favorite! I also like [name]Theo[/name] (as a nn for [name]Theodore[/name]), [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name]

I have a very soft spot for the name [name]Oliver[/name].

A few further questions:

[name]How[/name] popular is [name]Oliver[/name] in the US, really? I knew one growing up, and I think I know of a friend of a friend with a kid named [name]Oliver[/name]. That’s all that I know–there are none at my son’s school. Mega popularity definitely turns me off. But is it only mega popular in the UK?

Has [name]Elliot[/name] become a name that isn’t safe to use for a BOY name? I don’t want to name our son [name]Elliot[/name] and then have him end up with a girl [name]Elliot[/name] in his class at school. I agree that [name]Elliot[/name] is 100% a boys’ name, but that doesn’t mean much if others are using it for girls.

I like [name]Bennett[/name], but I am 95% sure I won’t use it because I don’t want him to be just another [name]Ben[/name].

[name]Oliver[/name] was #88 in the US in 2010. I’d imagine it jumped up even further in 2011.

I think [name]Elliot[/name] has a loooooong ways to go still before it “crosses” to the girls side. [name]Taylor[/name], [name]Riley[/name], and [name]Avery[/name] are still very much boys names and are being used on girls. I know 3 little boys named [name]Avery[/name] and only 1 little girl. I know 2 boys named [name]Riley[/name] and only 1 little girl (my niece, actually, lol). I know 4 boys named [name]Taylor[/name] and 1 little girl. I don’t know any boys or girls named [name]Elliot[/name], myself, but I’d say you’ve got at least another few decades before it turns into a name like [name]Ashley[/name] or [name]Courtney[/name].

Not a fan of [name]Bennett[/name].

I like your whole list and probably [name]Bennett[/name] best but read your comment about not wanting him to be just another [name]Ben[/name] I voted for [name]Gordon[/name] instead. It is probably the least used, which would be a plus for me but still not something that would be considered odd. [name]Theo[/name] is a cool name but has been rising in popularity for the last couple of years as have [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Hugo[/name]. I can’t see [name]Elliott[/name] making the jump from boy to girls name, [name]Ellery[/name] definitely but not [name]Elliott[/name].

I like the spunkiness of [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] and the distinguished, gentleman quality of [name]Bennett[/name].

I love that two people came out of the woodwork to vote for [name]Gordon[/name]. I was liking [name]Gordon[/name] a lot until I discovered the profound distaste that everyone seems to have for the name.

[name]Gordon[/name] rocks. The rest of are just fashionable names of the day.

I voted for [name]Gordon[/name] because I think it’s an underused classic-- similar to [name]Philip[/name].

I agree, but the thought of someone calling my child “[name]Gordo[/name]” is enough to make me not want to use it. :frowning:

I like all of these SO MUCH! I couldn’t choose between the ones below: Although [name]Gordon[/name] is nice, I’ve met a not-very-nice one, which somewhat soured the name. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] but the idea of someone calling him Huge-Oh is terrible.
[name]Elliot[/name]- I have never met one, and I think that it is so sweet!
[name]Theo[/name]- [name]One[/name] of my favorite nicknames, but I prefer [name]Theodore[/name].
[name]Oliver[/name]- My 2nd favorite name. I just love the sound of it.
[name]Bennett[/name]- I love this name SO much, and it would be on my list, but there is one at my school. Although he is very nice, unlike the [name]Gordon[/name], it would be too weird for me, but I would [name]LOVE[/name] you to use it.
I like [name]Bennett[/name] [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] best.

[name]Hugo[/name]! I also like [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name].
