Some that seem similar are [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name], and [name]Caroline[/name]. I also like the name a lot because I like G- beginning names… some others you might like are [name]Gemma[/name], [name]Georgiana[/name], [name]Geneva[/name], [name]Gillian[/name], [name]Giselle[/name], [name]Ginny[/name], and same sound [name]Jessamine[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name].
[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Monique[/name]
[name]Celine[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]
You don’t have to use [name]Gen[/name] as a nn for [name]Genevieve[/name]. [name]How[/name] about [name]Vivi[/name], [name]Via[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Evie[/name], or [name]Neve[/name]?
Agreed, you can also insist that people not call her “[name]Jen[/name]” nn’s if they try to.
You dont have to use that as a nn and u dont have to use a nickname at all if you dont want to.
You don’t have to use [name]Jen[/name] as nickname if you don’t like it- there are plenty of other nicknames, like [name]Gigi[/name], [name]Evie[/name], [name]Gee[/name], [name]Neve[/name], ect.
A few ideas:
[name]Anabel[/name] (I love this with [name]Robby[/name] and [name]Violet[/name])
[name]Eleanor[/name] nn. [name]Nora[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Helen[/name] nn. [name]Nell[/name]
[name]Coralie[/name] nn. [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name] nn. [name]Lulu[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Lou[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name] nn. [name]Romy[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] nn. [name]Flora[/name]
I hope that helps!
I new a girl named [name]Genevieve[/name] who just went by [name]Genevieve[/name]. It’s only three syllables, so you don’t have to have a nickname.
I know a [name]Genevieve[/name] who goes by [name]Vivi[/name]. Great name.
I know a [name]Genevieve[/name], who went by [name]GiGi[/name] as a child… and just Gi now. Never [name]Jen[/name] anything. It’s a beautiful name as is.
If you love it, go for it!
[name]Genevieve[/name] is one of the best ‘modern’ names and you can easily avoid [name]Jenny[/name] with the nn of [name]Vivi[/name].
Please use it, I think it is wonderful.
rollo
[name]Genevieve[/name] is a beautiful name and you don’t have to call her [name]Gen[/name]/[name]Jen[/name]. Insist that people don’t; it’s YOUR child. My [name]Brittany[/name] was nicknamed Any (pronounced like [name]Annie[/name]) throughout my pregnancy with her but once she was born I told them if they wanted to nickname her to call her [name]Britt[/name], and they did. It caught on. It would probably catch on for you too, if you would rather call her [name]Gigi[/name] or [name]Gia[/name] or [name]Vivi[/name]. Besides, she doesn’t have to go by a nickname at all! Good luck.
Other suggestions:
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rosa[/name]
[name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Gwendolen[/name]/[name]Gwendolyn[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] is a great choice!!! If a nn is needed, [name]Evie[/name] is my favorite.
[name]Ita[/name] with everyone! [name]Don[/name]'t let The nn [name]Jen[/name] keep you from using [name]Genevieve[/name], it can easily be avoided. My fave nns for [name]Genevieve[/name] are [name]Vivi[/name] and [name]Evie[/name].
I totally agree. [name]Genevieve[/name] is beautiful and I’d probably use [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Neve[/name] as a nn.
Thank you!!! I do love this name. Such great advice!! I can’t use the nn [name]Evie[/name] ( bad associations) but I do love the nn’s [name]Eve[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Nev[/name]/Nevie, and [name]Vivi[/name]. Which do you think is best out of those? My DD is violet. I would have to correct people but I think it’s worth it.
