We just found out today that our 4th little miracle is a GIRL. We are excited and so happy but have no idea what to name her. We had [name]Felix[/name] picked out for a boy. I wanted [name]Cecily[/name] for a girl but my husband decided yesterday that he really doesn’t like it and knows that the baby is going to be a boy. He was wrong and now we are stuck.
Our other children are [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Miles[/name].
Currently on our list we have:
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name] “[name]Bea[/name]/[name]Bebe[/name]”
[name]Clementine[/name] - Is it too long? What about nicknames?
[name]Cordelia[/name] “[name]Delia[/name]” - We would call her [name]Delia[/name] 90% of the time, should we just name her [name]Delia[/name]?
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Elsie[/name] - My husband wants a longer form, he doesn’t like [name]Elsa[/name] but loves [name]Elisabeth[/name].
[name]Eva[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] - Again, is it too long? Nicknames?
[name]India[/name] - My husband loves, I’m not so sure. Plus repeat letters.
[name]Josephine[/name] “[name]Posy[/name]”
[name]Juniper[/name] - Again, my husband loves and I’m not sure.
[name]Mabel[/name] - Another M name.
[name]Maeve[/name] - Another M name.
[name]Philippa[/name] “[name]Pippa[/name]”
[name]Stella[/name] - Cousins named [name]Ella[/name] and [name]Bella[/name], would adding a [name]Stella[/name] be too much?
[name]Willa[/name]
I like [name]Clementine[/name], and then NN [name]Clem[/name] is actually a really cute addition to your sibset. It’s rhythmic and spunky and old-fashioned, and I love it!
On their own, I’m a fan of [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], and [name]Philippa[/name]. Personally, I wouldn’t worry about two M names in a row. However, I do notice that all of your children’s names have an I in them. For some reason, I’m attracted to the visual balance of letters (maybe having to do with the fact that before marriage my full name was all A’s and N’s and M’s). So I would drop [name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name].
So my favorites for your sibset, in order: [name]Clementine[/name], [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Phillipa[/name] (I actually like [name]Phillipa[/name] better than [name]Juniper[/name], but I think [name]Juniper[/name] goes with your sibset better).
I like [name]Audrey[/name] the best with your other kids’ names. They are all classic names that have a vintage charm to them. [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Miles[/name], and [name]Aubrey[/name] would be a great sibset. Good [name]Luck[/name]!
[name]Audrey[/name]-nms
[name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] but doesn’t really flow with the other 2 ‘s’ endings
[name]Clementine[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] nn [name]Clemmie[/name] but too long for the sibset
[name]Cordelia[/name] “[name]Delia[/name]” - not mad about it
[name]Eloise[/name]-see above
[name]Elsie[/name] - too close to [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Eva[/name]-[name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] - too long
[name]India[/name] - doesn’t fit with the sibset
[name]Josephine[/name]-too long
[name]Juniper[/name] - I like
[name]Mabel[/name] - YES YES YES
[name]Maeve[/name] - YES YES YES but repeating letters
[name]Philippa[/name]-I do like [name]Philipa[/name] but would stick to [name]Pippa[/name] for sibset flow.
[name]Stella[/name] - [name]Ella[/name], [name]Bella[/name] & [name]Stella[/name]-no
[name]Willa[/name]-see above
I noticed that all of your children’s names have an I in them and I think that would be a nice subtle theme to carry through with #4. With this in mind, my favorites from your list are [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Philippa[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name]/[name]Delia[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], and [name]Willa[/name] with [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name], and [name]Miles[/name]. I do think that [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], and [name]Elisabeth[/name] are a little too long with the other names. Instead of [name]Juniper[/name], what about [name]Junia[/name]?
Some other possibilities are:
[name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Miles[/name], and
For some non-I names that work well: [name]Fern[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Margot[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Ramona[/name], [name]Vera[/name]
Witglh your other kid’s names I like [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Ellen[/name] or [name]June[/name]. You could always uuse Junipwr like your husband likes and have her go by a nn such as [name]June[/name] or [name]Junie[/name]. sorry for any typos this measage was typed on a samsung phone.
Based on your sibset and your style I vote for [name]Delia[/name] first, 2nd choice [name]Willa[/name], 3rd choice [name]Philippa[/name] “[name]Pippa[/name]”.
All your names have a classy, old-fashioned feel and they are all short and contain an ‘i’. These 3 have the same feel for me.
Though, honestly, I like most of the names on your list. [name]Audrey[/name], [name]India[/name], [name]Eva[/name], and [name]Maeve[/name] are really the only ones that don’t seem ‘right’ to me.
With your other kids I really like [name]Delia[/name] or [name]Eloise[/name]. Like a pp said earlier, the subtle ‘i’ theme is a nice way to tie them all together.
I think [name]Sylvia[/name] nn [name]Sylvie[/name] or [name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Genny[/name] would go perfect with [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Miles[/name]. Gorgeous names by the way!
Thank you. Your thoughts have been extremely helpful. What do you think of [name]Violet[/name]? My husband and I both love it but we have 2 daughters with flower names and wanted to ditch the theme with this baby.
Also what do you think about [name]Lily[/name], [name]Lilia[/name] or [name]Liliana[/name] for a middle name? Or maybe even [name]Susannah[/name], or should I spell it [name]Susanna[/name]?
I actually find it kind of funny you suggested [name]Lillian[/name]. We have another daughter named [name]Lillian[/name] who we call [name]Lily[/name]. So we can’t use it. Our [name]Lily[/name], was stillborn so we have been thinking about using her name as a middle name since [name]Iris[/name] also honor’s her.
I am really liking the simple sweet [name]Eva[/name] with your sib set. [name]Evie[/name] makes a adorable little girl name and she has the grown up [name]Eva[/name] as a woman. I think it is the repeat of the ‘v’ which makes it blend in so well.
[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Lily[/name] (nn [name]Junia[/name]) - very pretty and I think the only one that sounds great with [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] (nn [name]Delia[/name]) - love!
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] - this could be cute as well!
Another thought would be [name]Alma[/name]. It has a sweet vintage feel and means “soul ,” which could be a nice tribute to her lost big sister without invoking the flower theme over-much.
