Its a GIRL!!!

[name]Just[/name] finished the ultrasound and its pretty clear we will have a little girl in [name]December[/name]!

Middle name is [name]Marie[/name] almost uniformly to pass it on, family tradition.

So that makes my list (pretty much in descending order):

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Andie[/name]”: DH’s grandma’s brother and uncle were both [name]Alexander[/name] and my Grandpa’s nickname is [name]Andy[/name] (last name [name]Anderson[/name] so I always called him Grandpa [name]Andy[/name]). The only downside is a girl I know named [name]Alexandra[/name] who goes by her full name… I don’t want her to think I named my baby after her. I don’t like her all that much but our parents are close. She’s always trying to “one up me”… But at the same time I don’t want her to stop me from using a name I love! ([name]Andie[/name])

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: just think its super sweet but may be too demure and not spunky enough.

[name]Remy[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: Not sure if [name]Remy[/name] can stand on its own?

Remielle [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]”: may be too fussy for DH

[name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]”: ditto above

[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: nephew is [name]James[/name] [name]Bowen[/name] but goes by just “[name]Bo[/name]” not sure it its an issue.

[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: DH loves this and I do too, I love it for both but DH says only a girl. If we have a boy next he would likely be [name]Everett[/name] or [name]Charlie[/name], not sure if it would be hard to tell which is which gender? Not sure I care??

[name]Whitney[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: I like this even though its slightly dated. Something about “[name]Whit[/name]” is strong and smart and cute to me, all the things I want my daughter to be!

There are some others but these are tops now and have been for a while.

I [name]LOVE[/name] Rosamarie [name]Claire[/name]! A nice twist on [name]Marie[/name]!

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is very beautiful but maybe a little shy like you said.

maybe [name]Clarissa[/name] [name]Marie[/name]?

Those two are my favorites!

Also I really like [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] too and I used to know a [name]Alexandria[/name] that went by [name]Andy[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t the other woman put down the name you love

Congrats on your baby girl! Very excited for you

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Andie[/name]”: I’m a sucker for family significance, so although this is generally not my style, I think it’s nice to be able to honor so many people in your family. The nn [name]Andie[/name] gives it a bit more spunk! Oh, and I wouldn’t worry about the [name]Alexandra[/name] that you know

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: This one doesn’t flow as well as some of your others (it also reminds me of the magazine [name]Marie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]). I think something like [name]Cecile[/name] [name]Marie[/name] might work a bit better.

[name]Remy[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: This one is hard for me to say (it’s the “mee” coming just before the “ma” sound)

Remielle [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]”: Also a little hard to say, but easier than the above.

[name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]”: I [name]LOVE[/name] this one! Definitely my favorite from your list

[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: The [name]Rowan[/name]-[name]Bowen[/name] thing would bother me personally, but I guess it depends on how often they would see one another?

[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: I really like [name]Elliott[/name] for a girl, even though I generally don’t like name “stealing” from the boy’s pool  However, if you really want to have a son named [name]Everett[/name] one day, I wouldn’t use [name]Elliott[/name] for your daughter (a little too matchy, as well as the gender confusion you mentioned). [name]Elliott[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] are cute together though!

[name]Whitney[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: I know two [name]Whitney[/name] [name]Maries[/name], both born in the 70s. I see the appeal of [name]Whit[/name], but I’d stay away from this one.

Congratulations!!! I rather love all of your choices, but I adore [name]Whitney[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. It is precious!

Congratulations! You have a great list of possibilities. Keep in mind that I may be a bit biased as I tend to like unisex names on girls (and even some last names as first names), but my favorites from your list are…

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] nn “[name]Andie[/name]” I love the nn and also love that it has family significance.
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - like the name [name]Rowan[/name] a lot, but do understand how the cousin might make you think twice.
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Marie[/name]- think it sounds good and also like the fact that your husband really likes it. Think it would sound great with a little [name]Everett[/name] or [name]Charlie[/name] later on as well.

I do like the name [name]Whitney[/name], but like the three I listed above even more.

Good luck. Cannot wait to hear what you decide. [name]Little[/name] girls are so much fun!

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Andie[/name]” - I love this nn! Spunky, original … I could go on. [name]Alexandra[/name] is a feminine classic, too. Ignore the annoying [name]Alexandra[/name] that you know - perhaps clearly state the family connections while she is within hearing distance …

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - Like you said, very cute, but if you want spunky then don’t go with this one.

[name]Remy[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - I’m personally not a fan of nns for whole names, but [name]Remy[/name] [name]Marie[/name] does have a lovely ring to it … and it is a whole full name when used for a boy, so I think you could get away with it. You could always opt for [name]Romilly[/name] [name]Marie[/name], which is beautiful but without quite the same flow.

Remielle [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]” - I’m personally not a fan, and (to generalise) yes, most men would probably find this fussy.

[name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]” - It’s a little … sickly sweet, but that’s just my opinion.

[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - If you see your nephew a lot, [name]Ro[/name] and [name]Bo[/name] could be a problem. [name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is nice, though.

[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - I’m not the biggest fan of this name, but I do think it is identifiable enough as a unisex name that people wouldn’t presume she’s a boy (although [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] are too similar to use both, I think).

[name]Whitney[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - [name]Whitney[/name] is very abrupt and, like you said, quite dated. Personally, I am reminded of an annoying teenager on Eastenders (a British soap), though, so this may be why I dislike it.

My favourites are (in order) :
[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Remy[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name] [name]Marie[/name].

Woo-hoo!!! A girl! (I forgot what I guessed you were going to have in your other thread, but if I guessed boy, I totally meant “girl.”) Congratulations, [name]Erin[/name]!

I completely second [name]Olive[/name]'s post ([name]Hi[/name], [name]Olive[/name]!).

Thanks for sharing the exciting news, [name]Erin[/name]!

[name]Just[/name] finished the ultrasound and its pretty clear we will have a little girl in [name]December[/name]! Hooray!

Middle name is [name]Marie[/name] almost uniformly to pass it on, family tradition.

So that makes my list (pretty much in descending order):

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Andie[/name]” - love!

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: - love, too!

[name]Remy[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: Not sure if [name]Remy[/name] can stand on its own? If you like [name]Desiree[/name], maybe [name]Remy[/name] could be a nn for it. Or [name]Mireille[/name]! Oooh, I love [name]Mireille[/name] nn [name]Remy[/name]. But not [name]Mireille[/name] [name]Marie[/name]! [name]Hermione[/name], maybe…could [name]Remy[/name] be a nn for [name]Hermione[/name]? [name]Marina[/name]? [name]Meredith[/name]?

Remielle [name]Marie[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]”: may be too fussy for DH

[name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name] “[name]Remi[/name]”: ditto above - I love it!

[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]: nephew is [name]James[/name] [name]Bowen[/name] but goes by just “[name]Bo[/name]” not sure it its an issue. - Pretty!

Thanks everyone!

I think we are down to [name]Elliott[/name] [name]Marie[/name] and [name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Marie[/name] nn [name]Andie[/name].

[name]Adrienne[/name] nn [name]Andie[/name] is also an option that DH kind of likes.

We will probably just wait to meet her now!

He likes the nn [name]Remy[/name]/[name]Remi[/name] but doesn’t like any of the full names that go with it… And I don’t think I like [name]Remy[/name] alone, its just not CEO material and I would like to give her a longer more formal name.

Congratulations, [name]Erin[/name]. On [name]Remi[/name], I will say it’s the name of one of my favorite little girls and certainly a proper name on its own. There is no reason to feel you need to extend it into something more complicated or formal that you don’t really like.

It seems you like tomboyish names, which I can certainly relate to, as the mom of a girl named [name]Rory[/name]. But the one thing I’d say is that, since I ended up having two boys after her and no other chance to name a girl, I sort of regret not choosing a more frankly feminine name. [name]Elliot[/name] is adorable, [name]Andie[/name] to me is just okay, but keep in mind that this may be your only chance to name a daughter.

I love [name]Remi[/name] [name]Claire[/name]! just my opinion gd luck crongrats! ps [name]Demi[/name] is another similar name thats also lovely!

What about [name]Clara[/name] [name]Marie[/name] instead of [name]Claire[/name]?

The nn [name]Remi[/name] is adorable, but I would like to see it w. a full name – so, I love [name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]. I adore the name [name]Claire[/name] (my daughter is [name]Clare[/name] ) and to combine [name]Rose[/name] & marie, is a good twist on the ever-popular middle name [name]Marie[/name].
Like I said, I [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Clare[/name]. So, overall, I have to say [name]Clare[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is my favorite, but [name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Clare[/name] kind of combines a GREAT fn ([name]Rosemarie[/name]) and a great nn ([name]Remi[/name]) w. the ever-beautiful [name]Clare[/name].
Sidenote— [name]Remi[/name] [name]Clare[/name] sounds so adorable too.

[name]Love[/name] love [name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Claire[/name]! [name]Elliot[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is also very nice and if she ever wanted to be more girlie she could go by [name]Elle[/name] or [name]Ellie[/name].
[name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Marie[/name] looks so pretty written out even though I truly like [name]Alexandra[/name] I think I like [name]Adrienne[/name] more.

I adore [name]Elliot[/name] for a girl, and love the nicknames ([name]Elle[/name], [name]Ellie[/name]). I think [name]Remi[/name]/[name]Remy[/name] can definitely stand on its own. I am not a fan of Remielle; I cannot picture a little girl with that name, but [name]Remy[/name] is cute. I also like [name]Andy[/name] as a nickname for [name]Alexandra[/name]. I think [name]Alexandria[/name] would be nice too, because it is beautiful, a little less popular than [name]Alexandra[/name] and you can still use [name]Andy[/name] as a nickname. Good luck
