Yesterday we found out that baby number 3 is a little girl, I am so happy that she is strong and healthy. I have been a real anxious mess this time round, not being able to sleep as I haven’t felt much movement but found out that was due to having an anterior placenta.
I did a post a couple of days ago about the name we had picked, but both me and dh said last night that we no longer liked our decision of [name_f]Esme[/name_f]. Not sure why as I think it’s a lovely name, but it didn’t feel right. DH husband still wants [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. Whilst I like the name, I have some reservations over it, and after googling the name it receives very marmite opinions. I especially get them from my family saying we can’t use it because of ‘nasty auntie [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]’ - not that I knew or met her, so no bad associations for me.
I love vintage, old fashioned sort of names, but would like a name that is not to popular. Being a teacher I want a name that I am not likely to come across so much.
My son is called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and I have only taught a few, but know it’s become quite popular, my daughter is called [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and I have met only two girls with this name.
I vwould liek to add soem pretty names to our list and hopefully be able to pick the ONE.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] - is it too old ladyish and frumpy sounding
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - dh likes this, I like it but prefer [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - She would be called [name_f]Bea[/name_f] ([name_f]Bee[/name_f]) on a daily basis.
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] (don’t know what dh thinks of this name) - I like, [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessie[/name_f] as nn. My name starts with a T as well. Is that a bit silly all girls having T names?
Sorry for the very long post! Hopefully you lovely nameberry’s can help me pick a great name
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! I think it sounds very sweet and not frumpy at all, and a relative has actually just named their little girl [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. It was on my list but decided against it because our surname starts with L, and the names would run into each other. (We ended up going with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] instead). I also like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], and I think either would sound great with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] seems a bit too similar to [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] to me. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
Thank you for your reply.
I like [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and surprisingly for me, [name_f]Enid[/name_f] from your list.
I actually agree that [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] do have a similar feel to them. I don’t think I want us all to have T initials either.
So glad you think [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is sweet. If I don’t get to use [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] as a fn, [name_m]How[/name_m] does [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] sound?
I love all 3: [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f]!
We have used all 3 names in our family. I still love them!
I think my favorite to go with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]! But really, you can’t go wrong with any of them.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are NMS. I can see the appeal they are sweet and vintage. They sound a little heavy to me personally.
I love [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]! [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is similar to [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] but still sounds very different in my opinion. I think they sound adorable as sisters. If you are not planning on having anymore children, I think girls names all starting with T is a sweet connection. However if you plan to have more you might not want to lock yourself into that.
