Ivan for a girl???

I adore the name [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] but, it’s not considered unisex even though I much prefer it on a little girl. I know some would say to just go with [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] but, there’s something about [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] I just simply adore. Any thoughts, is it to masculine, am I dooming my future daughter with a life of being assumed to be a boy?

Not unless you consider [name_m]John[/name_m] a potential girls name too. [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] is the Slavic version of [name_m]John[/name_m].

There are several female versions though,

I’m not sure if these are considered versions of [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], but there’s also

I really like [name_f]Iva[/name_f] and Ivka!

Spell it Ivanne and you’re good! As [name_m]Ivan[/name_m] it isn’t a girl’s name and I think one should be especially respectful towards naming traditions when considering names from other cultures.

I’m not a fan, and I think it would cause lots of confusion. Maybe as a middle.

I wouldn’t do it. It’s extremely masculine to me, sorry. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Yvonne[/name_f]?
