I’m making a list of all the names mentioned in the book, there’s about 20 already and I’m only 50 pages in. I’ll post the list when I’m done, but I do have to say I absolutely love the name [name]Rhett[/name]. Anyone else like it?
I like it! [name]Everett[/name] is one of my favorite boys’ names and I do like the nn [name]Rhett[/name]… I do prefer just [name]Everett[/name], but [name]Rhett[/name] is lovely.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Rhett[/name]. Gone with the wind is my favorite.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Rhett[/name]…but since I already have a [name]Scarlett[/name]…it might be too cheesy …but I adore the name.
I like [name]Rhett[/name], but I’m not a Gone With the Wind fan, so I wouldn’t use it because I know people would always assume that. I like the PP’s mention of [name]Everett[/name] nn [name]Rhett[/name]. I’d use it for [name]Garrett[/name] too.
I love [name]Rhett[/name], both as a nickname for [name]Everett[/name] and as a name on its own. (:

I didn’t much care for most of the names in GWTW, although for it’s time, [name]Katie[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] was pretty daring. Her sisters’ names were dull, and the [name]Wilkes[/name]'s names – [name]Ashley[/name] and [name]India[/name], [name]Melanie[/name] – yuck. The Tarleton twins…double yuck. And her children’s names – [name]Wade[/name]? [name]Eugenia[/name]? [name]Bonnie[/name] [name]Blue[/name]? triple yuck. I like [name]Gerald[/name] and [name]Ellen[/name], though. As for [name]Rhett[/name], he and [name]Scarlett[/name] deserved each other, namewise, I mean.
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name]'s original name for [name]Scarlett[/name] was “[name]Pansy[/name].” THAT would certainly have given a different impression of the character if it had stayed in. I’m not a huge fan of the name [name]Rhett[/name]; it sounds like a head cold.
I like [name]Rhett[/name]- thought I’d never be brave enough to use it. No matter what, I’d alwasy picture [name]Clark[/name] [name]Gable[/name] chasing after Viven [name]Leigh[/name]. However, I love the names from Gone With the Wind. It’s one of my favorite books. [name]One[/name] of the things I love about it so much is the way the characters’ personalities are reflected by their names. [name]Melanie[/name] was gentle but weak, [name]Ashley[/name] was tied to duty and honor, ect. [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name] and her naming styles are a big influence on me.
