I wish to change my name to either [name_m]Zed[/name_m] or [name_m]Zebulon[/name_m] but i’m having trouble choosing.
I have always loved the name [name_m]Zed[/name_m], I just think it sounds so unbelievably cool. There are also a few fictional characters from my generation who bear this name, two examples are Dr. [name_m]Zed[/name_m] from Borderlands and [name_m]Zed[/name_m] from League of Legends.
But I feel like [name_m]Zebulon[/name_m] is more of a realistic name, because even if there’s not a lot of people who bear this name, most elderly people know of it.
So [name_m]Zed[/name_m] or [name_m]Zebulon[/name_m], which do you prefer?
I prefer [name_m]Zed[/name_m]. It’s simple and easy to read, and it seems more approachable than [name_m]Zebulon[/name_m].
[name_m]Zebulon[/name_m] sounds more like a name out of a science fiction novel rather than a name I can imagine coming across in real life, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely unwearable. The fact that it’s biblical grounds the name a bit.
If all else fails, [name_m]Zebulon[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Zed[/name_m] seems like it would work
I prefer [name_m]Zed[/name_m], too. It really does sound cool, but I also like it because it sort of familiar. I mean, there are similar names, like [name_m]Ned[/name_m] and Ted, so the name doesn’t sound crazy, whereas [name_m]Zebulon[/name_m] sounds other-worldly. I agree with @sansavesper’s description of a science fiction novel vibe. Is that a bad thing? No, not really. However, it just doesn’t have a grounded, realistic feel to it, in my opinion.
