I know alot of you have read my posts on names… and usually the list is pretty long:) although it usually contains the same names, i always added one, or deleted one… never able to really shorten the list at all. well… last night at my husbands office [name]Christmas[/name] party we talked about names ALL night with people (i guess my DH informed them all of our name troubles, lol!). by the end of the night i had pretty much decided that all my names are GREAT but none of them feel like the RIGHT one.
there is one name that i have loved (never talked about it on here really) for a looooong time, but wouldn’t consider it because a friends DD was named that name. BUT last night it came to me… this was the name i wanted. when i say it i feel happy, like its HER… it feels like the right name! DH had vetoed it long, long ago due to the fact that these friends DD was named it, but last night he told me if i wanted the name that was fine:))) they aren’t close friends, but friends we see at church (sometimes) and on the rare occasion at a social event… i really don’t see the problem in using the name (its not like shes family or a very close friend… which i wouldnt’ feel comfortable using the name in that case). so i decided i liked the flow of the name and there is one similar to it as well, which i would consider also, so i need your advice berries:)) I CANT BELIEVE I HAVE DECIDED!!!

I have loved these names for so long, and love the nn options, meanings of the names, EVERYTHING but never considered them on my list because DH vetoed them. for some reason last night he changed his mind! and i truly do love them more than any of the others! i know some of you may think some of my others are nicer, and they ARE nice names, but i know i have finally found my name. so which one do you prefer? [name]Annabelle[/name] is my friends DD, so i would avoid the spelling she has ([name]Annabelle[/name]). [name]Mirabel[/name] has the same feel, and i love it as well, so i am considering it. Which do you prefer? i am totally lost for mn’s… can NOT do [name]Mae[/name]/[name]Maeve[/name] with [name]Annabel[/name] because my friends DD is [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Mae[/name]…so…
any thoughts on mn combos? i like [name]Kate[/name], [name]Claire[/name], [name]Violet[/name]… I really prefer one syllable but would consider 2 syllable to. what are your thoughts? whats your fave fn and can you give me some ideas for a mn with it? THANKS!!!

I like [name]Annabel[/name] more than [name]Mirabelle[/name] (and for some reason I like the spelling [name]Mirabelle[/name] much better than [name]Mirabel[/name], even though I prefer [name]Annabel[/name] to [name]Annabelle[/name].) Oh, you’re in a great position with just 2 names! [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Mirabel[/name] are both beautiful. And whispers I think the spelling [name]Annabel[/name] is prettier than [name]Annabelle[/name], so you’re lucky that’s the one your friend didn’t pick
Absolutely, imo, use the spellings with the -bel suffix. I may be biased because my name is [name]Isabel[/name], but i think that -bel versus -belle makes the name look more like one name instead of segments tacked together. The -bell ending is a little weird.
[name]Annabel[/name] [name]Kate[/name] sounds so pretty and so does [name]Mirabel[/name] [name]Kate[/name]. Pretty much the same MN’s go with both names because they’re both 3 syllables with the -bel ending.
NN Options (you may like one better than the other): [name]Annie[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Mira[/name], [name]Miri[/name]…or [name]Bel[/name]/[name]Bella[/name] for either. All so sweet.
Popularity: [name]Mirabel[/name] isn’t in the top 1000 while [name]Annabel[/name] is #722 (still uncommon!) [name]Annabelle[/name] is #156 if that makes a difference.
Meanings: both lovely meanings…[name]Mirabel[/name] means “wonderful” and [name]Annabel[/name] means “loving”.

I love the name [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Lee[/name]/[name]Leigh[/name] since it’s also my favorite poems by [name]Edgar[/name] [name]Allan[/name] [name]Poe[/name]. The poem’s really sad, but I love the the meter and rhyme and I would have still used it for my daughter, except for the nickname of [name]Annie[/name]. I’m a redhead (with natural curls) and was called [name]Little[/name] Orphan [name]Annie[/name] a lot as a kid and didn’t want the same for her. (BTW - my daughter is a brunette…oh well. She won’t let me change it now, 17 years later.)
I also like [name]Mirabel[/name] with a nickname of [name]Miri[/name]. Oddly, [name]Mira[/name] sounds kinda old lady to me, but [name]MIrabel[/name] doesn’t.
[name]Both[/name] names are well-known, so pronunciation won’t be much of an issue for other people, but not very common.
The name [name]Annabelle[/name] is my favorite name right now! I’d either go with the spelling [name]Annabel[/name] or [name]Annabelle[/name]. [name]Annabell[/name] looks like you forgot a letter. If you care at all about popularity your best bet is to go with [name]Mirabel[/name] as I’m fairly certain that [name]Annabelle[/name] broke into the top 100 in 2010. Me though, I prefer [name]Annabelle[/name].

My youngest daughter’s name is [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] so I’m a fan! We call her [name]Lu[/name]-[name]Bel[/name] a lot. I would go ahead and name her that if that is what you like. I have a friend that I grew up with that I don’t really see that much any more, but our families still see each other. She has a daughter named [name]Lucy[/name] and just decided that I liked more than whether or not people thought I was copying (which I wasn’t!). Go for it!
