I absolutely [name]ADORE[/name] the rest of the names on your list ([name]Sylvie[/name], [name]Catalina[/name], and [name]Leonie[/name] in particular) and they will all serve your daughter much better later in life. [name]Ivory[/name] just sounds trendy, even tryndeigh.

I can see where the appeal of [name]Ivory[/name] stems from but I’m afraid I must side with your husband in this one. [name]Ivory[/name] immediately brought to mind the poaching of elephants, which isn’t the best thing to think about when facing a little baby

I knew a girl named [name]Ivory[/name] when I was in elementary school. Her father sold native art, so that’s how she got the name. She was never called [name]Ivy[/name], so I don’t think you’d have to worry about that as a nn. It’s also a color name. I actually think it would be fine as a name, but I guess I’m in the minority here.
The name [name]Ebony[/name] is associated with black pride, so [name]Ivory[/name] is associated with… white pride? I think some people might get the wrong idea. I also think about poor Elephants
