Ivy Carlisle...too masculine and clunky?

Considering our little girl’s name from all angles and although we have a different front runner, we are intrigued by the new option of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u].

[name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] has the potential to honor three different people in our family: a grandfather [name_m]Carl[/name_m], a great grandfather whose middle is Lile and a grandmother [name_u]Lisa[/name_u].

[name_m]How[/name_m] does it sound? Too heavy and masculine? Or does it matter since her middle wouldn’t be used as often? We also love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] but the syllables don’t have as nice of a ring in my opinion.

I think it works! I know of a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] who goes by both names as a double-barreled name and I think that sounds very fresh and fun without being weird.

I love [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]. I don’t find it clunky or masculine. I love when names can honor multiple people, so I think it’s great!

I think I would put it with a different name. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] blend into each other. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] , [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] or [name_f]Melody[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]

I like it! I don’t find it clunky and [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] balances out the oh-so-feminine [name_f]Ivy[/name_f].

I personally do prefer the flow of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] but both sound great and I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a wonderful choice.

I prefer [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], but [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is very feminine so [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] would work just fine, especially as a middle name. I also don’t find it clunky

I agree with pp - [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] is wonderful. I immediately think of Twilight when I hear [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], but the story behind it is so sweet. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] works too, but how about [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Carissa[/name_f]? Car from [name_m]Carl[/name_m] and issa/isa from [name_u]Lisa[/name_u].

I think [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] works well as a middle, and isn’t really clunky at all.

I actually like the combo [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] but think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is lovely too.

I love it, especially being that [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] is an honour name. She will be known as [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (last name) and [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] in the middle makes it quite interesting, with meaning behind it.

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] sounds lovely and is made lovelier because it honors those you love.

I really like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]. It’s cool! The masculine and feminine balance out. Not too clunky at all.

I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] is incredibly cool – in fact, I now sort of wish this was my name…

I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] is super cute! It has a nice flow.

I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] is wonderful! It flows so beautifully, and [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] balances out the more feminine [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I also love that it subtly honours three people. I think it could be a real winner!

I like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]. Definitely not too masculine or clunky! I think the repeated long I-sounds are cool.

Such a great name!

I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u] sounds amazing! It’s very lovely

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]! Beautiful flow, unexpected middle, sounds very posh!
