Hello!
I am new to the site but need some desperate help on naming our baby boy. We have [name]Izaak[/name] [name]Moses[/name], and have just had a boy and want to call him [name]Mo[/name] or [name]Moe[/name]. Dh wants him to have a ‘proper’ name so that’ll come as a nick name… Which is tough.
We are jewish so old testament is nice but we’re not hugely religious so don’t want to over do the bible either…but then most names seem to come down to old and [name]New[/name] Testament. Our thoughts are:
[name]Moses[/name] - or is that weird, since its his brothers middle name?
[name]Amos[/name]- not strictly a mo name but close
[name]Solomon[/name] - and still go with mo no sol as the nick name
[name]Moritz[/name] - dh worries its too [name]German[/name] sounding
[name]Moshe[/name]- Yiddish for [name]Moses[/name]
At the moment we are thinking of [name]Emmanuel[/name] as the middle name but not if we went with [name]Solomon[/name] as its just too long!
From your list, I like [name]Amos[/name] or [name]Solomon[/name] the best, but I agree that [name]Amos[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] has the best flow. Go with that! [name]Amos[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name]!
I agree with the other berries [name]Amos[/name] and [name]Moses[/name] as a sib set would be really nice! You can still call him [name]Mo[/name] and [name]Amos[/name] [name]Emmanuel[/name] sounds amazing. My vote is for that combo!
I like [name]Amos[/name] as well! [name]How[/name] about Moseley? My kids adore books by [name]Mo[/name] Willems, so I see nothing wrong with just plain [name]Mo[/name] or [name]Moe[/name].
