There are only two J names that I like at all. [name]June[/name] and [name]Juliette[/name]. [name]Juliette[/name] is very pretty (I like this spelling) and feminine, but I doubt I would ever use it. [name]June[/name], I would use in a heartbeat. [name]June[/name] gets my vote!
I like [name]Juliette[/name] but really don’t like [name]Julie[/name], so that one is out. I love [name]Jemima[/name], but it has so many bad connotations here in the States. I don’t like any of the other names except for [name]June[/name]. I love [name]June[/name]! It got my vote. I think it’s fresh, and simple and very pretty. I also really love [name]Joy[/name] and [name]Juniper[/name].
I voted [name]Juliette[/name]. Out of those names, that is the one I would name my child.
I chose [name]Jessamine[/name], I like [name]Juliette[/name] but it’s a little common for me, and I came across [name]Jessamine[/name] recently and it’s stuck in my mind, it’s a little different also love [name]Jessie[/name] as a nickname and it also reminds me of [name]Jasmine[/name] which I also like but its very common- well here in NZ anyway.
Only just discovered these message boards and it’s been fun seeing other people that like talking about names as much as me
[name]Hi[/name], [name]Charlie[/name]!
[name]Juliette[/name] - This looks too fussy to me. I like [name]Juliet[/name], and its literary reference, but my favorite form is the classic, elegant, feminine [name]Julia[/name]! I think [name]Jules[/name] is a sweet nickname, and [name]Julia[/name] is honestly one of those names, like [name]Elizabeth[/name], that I have a hard time finding fault with.
[name]Jaya[/name] - Well, this one is unexpected! A bit like [name]Jayde[/name], sort of like [name]Jayne[/name], verging on trendy like [name]Jayla[/name] and [name]Jayden[/name]? Yeah, this one isn’t much my style. I like the [name]Jay[/name] connection - the jaybird, that is - but I think I prefer just plain [name]Jay[/name] for a quirky middle name! If I was being totally honest, I could definitely see myself giving each future child a bird middle name - it could be like a backhand way to honor myself, as my nickname is [name]Birdie[/name]! If I use my current favorite names, I’d probably choose [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Wren[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Dove[/name] (eh…), [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Jay[/name], [name]Henry[/name] [name]Finch[/name], [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Byrd[/name], [name]William[/name] [name]Hawk[/name], and we’ll throw in [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Lark[/name] and [name]Julian[/name] [name]Merle[/name] for extras! Wow, that got off-topic…
[name]Jemima[/name] - This always reminds me, without fail, of the syrup brand “Aunt [name]Jemima[/name],” but the sassy [name]Jem[/name] nickname is almost enough to sway me in favor of [name]Jemima[/name]. That and the literary references of [name]Jemima[/name] Puddle-Duck and [name]Jem[/name] [name]Finch[/name], even though he wasn’t a [name]Jemima[/name]…
[name]June[/name] - I’m a [name]June[/name] baby, and for some reason, this has way more personality and whimsical flair than [name]Jane[/name] for me! I do quite like it, I think, but I’d never use it as a first name. I love it for a middle name, though! It has so much more presence than [name]May[/name]! [name]June[/name] also benefits from the sweet [name]Junie[/name] (think [name]Junie[/name] B. [name]Jones[/name]!) nickname…
[name]Jessamine[/name] - This is a really lovely flower name that manages to be both vintage sweet and exotic flair at the same time! [name]Jess[/name] and [name]Jesse[/name] are cool, rugged nicknames for a little girl, and I see this name as the perfect bridge between girlish girl and tomboy!
[name]Jonquil[/name] - Yeah, this is just totally not for me. I don’t care for [name]Jonny[/name] or Quil as nicknames, and a jonquil is one of those flower names that, for me, should really only be used for flowers. It is just too uncommon for me…
Another name to mention is [name]Josephine[/name]! It’s playful, whimsical, charming, and soft while still maintaining presence and poise. And, [name]Josie[/name] is pretty sweet, too.
[name]Hope[/name] you are doing well, [name]Charlie[/name]!
[name]Lemon[/name]
I voted for [name]Juliette[/name]. None of the other names are really my style, although [name]Jaya[/name] looks interesting. My own name is [name]Julia[/name] (with a different spelling) so I love [name]Juliette[/name] and [name]Julia[/name], with the nickname possibility of [name]Jules[/name].
Other ‘J’ names on my list: [name]Jenna[/name], [name]Jane[/name], and [name]Jillian[/name].
Hey [name]Charlie[/name]! I’ve been looking forward to this
[name]Juliette[/name] - I used to prefer [name]Juliette[/name] without the extra french -te, but I can’t remember which poll it was on, you definitely convinced me to love it like this, especially with the nn [name]Jem[/name]! It’s on my list
[name]Jaya[/name] - I love the meaning, ‘victory’ and I think it sounds really pretty it’s not my favourite out of your list, I think it is because one of my friends is a [name]Jay[/name] and I have known her for so long that, to me, [name]Jaya[/name] looks like [name]Jay[/name] with an a added on at the end. I mean I know it is a real name, that’s just the first thing I see.
[name]Jemima[/name] - love! So many brilliant [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Potter[/name]- [name]Jemima[/name] Puddleduck memories Nns [name]Jem[/name] or [name]Mimi[/name] are so sweet. The meaning ‘dove’ is really lovely.
[name]June[/name] - I know a lot of nameberry would disagree with me, but I love [name]June[/name] so much more than [name]Jane[/name]. I think [name]June[/name] sounds chirpy and bright and vintage. Definitely my favourite month name, although I adore [name]August[/name] nn [name]Gus[/name] for a boy.
[name]Jessamine[/name] - really love, brilliant alternative to [name]Jessica[/name]. I’ve loved nn [name]Jessie[/name] since [name]Toy[/name] [name]Story[/name] 2 however many years ago and [name]Jessamine[/name] seems like the best way to get [name]Jess[/name]/ [name]Jessie[/name] as a nn, I love the flower meaning as well, is this a secret flower name?
[name]Jonquil[/name]- Wow, this is very cool. The more I look at it, the more I love it. I am love with so many nature names, this one does not disappoint. I think it is really unexpected, different and lovely. I think I love it most as a middle name, because I think it is one of those names that flows better after most of my favourites, I love [name]Kerensa[/name] [name]Jonquil[/name]!
Eeep! This is such a tough one! Purely because [name]Kerensa[/name] [name]Jonquil[/name] is my new favourite [name]Kerensa[/name] combo, I will vote for [name]Jonquil[/name], although I do adore [name]Jemima[/name], [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]June[/name] and [name]Juliette[/name] of course!
P.S- I think my absolute favourite ‘J’ name is [name]Juniper[/name]
Ooh, I love [name]Jessamine[/name]! I think I prefer that spelling to [name]Jessamyn[/name]–it looks less trendy. It’s so sweet and classic but off-beat. It sounds very English to me, as a note.
My other (not on the poll) favorite “j” names are [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Julia[/name]. – [name]Christy[/name] ([name]Margaret[/name])
What about [name]Josephine[/name]? Or [name]Joy[/name]?
I prefer [name]Juliet[/name]. It’s such a feminine name, I don’t think it needs any frills.
I love most of the [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Julia[/name], [name]Julianne[/name], etc. names, so it got my vote. I like lots of J names, for boys and girls, but the other girl name I’d have to put out there is [name]Josephine[/name].
[name]Hi[/name], [name]Charlie[/name]!! This isn’t my real response (I’m out of town and using the hotel’s computer, so I need to be quick), but I just want to say that I voted for [name]Juliette[/name]!
I’ll be back to comment on the others names when I can.
I hope you’re doing well!
Take care!
[name]Juliette[/name] - I voted for [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] is one of my favourite names, and I think the [name]Juliette[/name] spelling is also very pretty. Seriously, love this name! It’s not very popular in my area also, which I like.
[name]Jaya[/name] - Sorry, I have to say I’m not a fan. It’s not substantial enough for me.
[name]Jemima[/name] - I think this is so cute and quirky, and as a [name]Brit[/name]/Canadian, I really never think of syrup.
[name]June[/name] - This is so adorable! I think it would make a great middle name, or a really quirky and cute first.
[name]Jessamine[/name] - Too frilly for me, and I’m not a fan of [name]Jess[/name]- names.
[name]Jonquil[/name] - Hmm, I don’t like the sound of this when said out loud.
[name]Jessamine[/name] gets my vote. It is my [name]FAVORITE[/name] J name for a girl. So pretty and feminine. It is a great alternative to the popular [name]Jessica[/name] but also an alternative to the name [name]Jasmine[/name].
My second favorite J name for a girl is [name]Juliet[/name].
