What do you think of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] or [name_u]Basil[/name_u]? (We would say [name_u]Basil[/name_u] the American way, like the plant). These are basically our top two, although I’m honestly not in love with either. I’d love some middle name suggestions…
Other names we considered include [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], [name_u]Florian[/name_u] (still like but seems a little too long), [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and [name_m]Finnian[/name_m].
I haven’t! Although that is cute I’ll think it over
sometimes I feel like [name_u]Basil[/name_u] is too crunchy but it could work well too.

Honestly, I think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Basil[/name_u] are great! But…
^^ This makes me kind of sad.
Is there any way we can help you find a boy name or two that you are just head-over-heels for?

I would love that, the issue is I have sort of narrow requirements and I feel like I’ve read every possible name I’m just tired of looking at them? If anyone feels like going in a wild hunt… I need a name these is an orthodox saint or diminutive (ex. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] for [name_m]John[/name_m]). I’d also love to have some sort of natural, earthy connection also, ex [name_u]Florian[/name_u] means flowering and is also a saint. I suppose I could make a separate post with all this information but it’s just alot

You may have already considered some (or all) of these, but I did some searching, taking into account your sons’ names, and came up with some ideas that seem like they would fit well. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] it can help inspire you at least a little!
St. names:
[name_u]Declan[/name_u]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
Diminutives of St. names:
[name_u]Max[/name_u] ([name_m]Maximus[/name_m])
[name_u]Nico[/name_u] ([name_m]Nicholas[/name_m])
[name_u]Theo[/name_u] ([name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/Theophan/Theophanes)
[name_u]Wolf[/name_u] (Wolfeius/Wolfgang)
Earthy and/or nature-y names:
[name_u]Ash[/name_u]/Asher/Ashton
[name_u]Atlas[/name_u]
[name_u]Banks[/name_u]
[name_u]Brook[/name_u]/Brooks
[name_u]Cedar[/name_u]
[name_u]Dash[/name_u]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_u]Gardner[/name_u]
[name_m]Heath[/name_m]
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
[name_u]Miles[/name_u]
[name_u]Nile[/name_u]

What about [name_m]Vasili[/name_m] which is the Russian version of [name_u]Basil[/name_u]. I would assume it is probably an Orthodox [name_m]Saint[/name_m]’s name, which is one of your requirements.

If you like [name_u]Florian[/name_u] but aren’t sold on the length, I like the suggestion of [name_m]Florin[/name_m], but also maybe you’d like [name_m]Ian[/name_m], [name_u]Darin[/name_u], [name_u]Dorian[/name_u] (same length I know but it feels shorter to me), [name_u]Finn[/name_u], or Fian?
I also think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (obviously biased here) and [name_u]Basil[/name_u] are lovely names but if you’re not in love, I would say you definitely should try to find something that you do love

Jack and [name_u]Basil[/name_u] are both strong options but the unexpectedness of [name_u]Basil[/name_u] gives it an edge for me. The naming process can get significantly harder the more your family expands as the names you love, agree on and that meet your preferences tends to shrink. So it seems completely normal that you’re feeling this way about your top choices right now. Fortunately it’s the person who makes the name.
For a subtle earth or nature connection I’m thinking… [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]Oleander[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Harlan[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
Basil already has a nature connection so I’d go more traditional… [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_u]George[/name_u], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] [name_m]Orlando[/name_m]

I’ve always loved [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_u]Basil[/name_u] is pretty different as a choice I don’t think he’d meet another ! I think maybe I’d go [name_u]Basil[/name_u] as a middle name personally rather than first where it is so unusual.
Others you might like (just going on J and F from [name_u]Florian[/name_u] now!)

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! I’m going to comb through these today, first impressions I like [name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Florin[/name_m] and [name_m]Vasili[/name_m]. A few of the other suggestions ([name_m]Leo[/name_m] especially) have been nixed by my SO.
