If baby is a boy we like the name [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I have searched and searched and just can’t find another boy name we like! It does seem a bit “blah” to me though. What are your thoughts?
My area is completely overrun with little Jacks and Jacksons. That said, I still think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a solid, timeless choice. If nothing else is standing out, use [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and spice it up with an exotic middle name. No [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], etc.
I think it’s a classic, although the massive popularity of [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxson[/name_m] does make it seem a bit dull. When I was growing up I only knew one boy named [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (real name [name_m]John[/name_m]) and zero named [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. However, I do think it’s a name that works great through all stages of life and that’s always a big positive.
[name_u]True[/name_u]. If we were to use the name it would be [name_m]Jack[/name_m], not [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. Not [name_m]John[/name_m]. Pretty simple
I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. It’s more interesting than [name_m]John[/name_m], classier than [name_m]Jax[/name_m], and less fussy than [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I don’t find it dull, in fact, I like it a lot.
It’s definitely classic; whether or not its boring to choose a very well-used classic name is a matter of opinion. Some people might find it boring because it’s sort of an “expected” choice, ie [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle name for girls, but I agree w/ @southern.maple that it could still be interesting/distinctive when paired with a less classic/familiar middle name. Overall I think [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a nice name.
I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. With all the Jacksons and [name_m]Jax[/name_m], I feel like it classic and clean.
I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m]! It’s a classic.
I agree with @southern.maple.
I love it, even if it’s popular. It’s so friendly sounding!
I agree - it’s a classic name and a very nice one.
I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m]! It was my grandfather’s nn, and, out of the myriad of Johns in my family, he was the only one that went by [name_m]Jack[/name_m]–the others are all [name_m]John[/name_m] or [name_m]Johnny[/name_m]. It seems really fresh to me for that reason, and down-to-earth, friendly, and kind. I would love to meet–or have!–a [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. It’s one of my favorite names ever.
Good luck!
I really like [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. short, sweet, and classic. We had it on our list, but it was eliminated (along with [name_m]Luke[/name_m]) when we narrowed it down.
I love [name_m]Jack[/name_m] on its own. I know plenty of boys named [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m], [name_m]Jax[/name_m], and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] but not many Jacks. The one I do know is the happiest, cutest little guy ever.
I agree with another poster that if you find it a bit plain, use a middle name to make it more exciting. Personally I don’t find it plain. I think is a nice, classic, strong name.
I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m], though I have to say it seems to be the most popular name for little boys where I live at the moment. Not a huge issue though [name_f]IMO[/name_f] - popular names are popular for a reason!
I agree about using a more adventurous middle name to spice it up a bit. Something like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] or [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Zebedee[/name_m] would be awesome!
Great name, classic. I guess it depends on your area, but I’ve only ever come across one [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (and supposedly it the #2 boys name in my country). Honestly it sounds so much fresher to me than the myriad of [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]'s.
Definitely agree with pairing it with something adventurous/non-classic!
I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. It rolls off the tongue easily.
I find it a bit “blah” as well, particularly with the surge of Jacksons and Jaxons.
