Hubby suggested this name for our baby boy and it took me a while to realize where I’d heard it. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you immediately think of Titanic? Opinions? Thanks in advance!
I haven’t watched Titanic in years, so I completely forgot about his last name. I think it’s fine since it’d be in the middle, but some people might make comments.

I didn’t even know [name_m]Jack[/name_m] was called [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] fully 
personally when I think of Titanic I think of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and that’s about it, maybe I’m uncultured! However my generation thinks of [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] as in YouTuber [name_u]Shane[/name_u] [name_m]Dawson[/name_m], and that’s not a kind association given his problematic past and Internet personality! I’m a teenberry however so for older generations probably not and so it’s useable!

Jack [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] together yes I do think of titanic. Independently from one another, no.
If you like [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] you may like [name_m]Deacon[/name_m]? [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Declan[/name_u]. Wasn’t sure if [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] was your surname or a middle name contender.

Nope. I’ve seen titanic a few times over the years but I’m not a big enough fan to have remembered [name_m]Jack[/name_m]’s last name 
I think you might get a few (positive) comments from big fans if you post the full name for the birth announcement, but thats about it

Yes, [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] would be the middle. I do like [name_m]Deacon[/name_m]! [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Deacon[/name_m] sounds strong.

I knew the name was familiar but it took me a second to recall where it was from. I dont know if many will make the association immediately. Once you make it though, its hard not to think about the movie. I probably wouldn’t use them together but if you did, I dont think it would come up that much so if you love the combo you guys should use it. Middle names don’t get brought up a ton anyways! And if you like the movie, its kind of a cool reference!

I’m not a big fan of Titanic, and haven’t seen it in probably a decade. Unfortunately, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] still makes me think of the character immediately, I’m sorry! I think because it’d be his first and middle, instead of first and last, it’s still usable though. Not everyone knows eachothers middle names. So long as you don’t mind that you may get comments about it, I think it’s fine! Especially because I dont think it’s a bad association anyway! I also love the suggestion of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Deacon[/name_m]! There’s also [name_m]Dallon[/name_m], [name_m]Daxton[/name_m], [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_m]Donovan[/name_m], [name_m]Doran[/name_m], [name_m]Duncan[/name_m], and [name_m]Lawson[/name_m]. I’ll be honest, I did not remember that character’s last name. Had it not been brought up I would never have made the connection. But it looks like a lot of other people do seem to make that connection, so it may be a good idea to look at a few middle name options.

I think it’s totally useable ! I think that Titanic is old enough that a lot of people would not remember the character’s last name - and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a VERY popular name so there are a lot of pop cultural references [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought with [name_m]Dawson[/name_m] was actually [name_m]Dawson[/name_m]’s [name_u]Creek[/name_u]
I also will have to say in personally bias for [name_m]Deacon[/name_m] , but I think it’s the greatest name. Other names that might be note worthy
