I’m ttc baby # 3, if she is a girl I really like the name [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f], pronounced [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-leen (the European/[name_m]French[/name_m] way) but my hubby says everyone will call her [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-[name_u]Lyn[/name_u] or more likely in [name_u]Texas[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]-a-[name_u]Lyn[/name_u] and when I correct them I will sound snobby. WDYT?? My hubby wants to name her after his grandmother, [name_f]Ima[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]. NOT a big fan. Is the name [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] close enough? I also like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] to make hubby happy…I have two sons named [name_m]Ryland[/name_m] [name_u]Bentley[/name_u] and [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] Wake (he goes by Wake, everyone thought I was crazy but now everyone thinks it’s a really neat name) and I’m not sure if any of these girl names sound good with my boys names.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] by a mile. It has a pleasant meaning and sound. [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] is dated, and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] just feels a little… frumpy, maybe? Especially with the Southern pronunciation.
1 [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - a name that makes me smile!
2 [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - lovely when pronounced “jen” not “jean”
3 [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] - The First Lady [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] was of [name_m]French[/name_m] heritage so she pronounced it the [name_m]French[/name_m] way. I don’t think many people would in your neck of the woods.
Your husband is 100% right about [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f].
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] is absolutely darling. [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] has the most charming, Southern vibe… I just love that combo for you. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] (imma-jen) would honor [name_f]Ima[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] nicely, but I’m not sure it’s the best fit with your sibset and just the overall feel of what I sense you’re after.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] all the way. [name_f]Happy[/name_f] TTCing.
Before even reading your description, [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] was my favorite by a mile. [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] won’t be worth the correction trouble, and yes, at least some people will find it snobbish. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is NMS.
I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] as general rule, but taking into consideration all the specifics of your case, I’m loving – LOVING – [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]! Southern – yet you.
I think it is okay with your boys. If I picked something just to go with those names, it might not be any of your names, but I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] works.
