Trying to decide on a middle name to honor my Dad (NN was [name]Jack[/name], but real name was [name]John[/name].)
the only names I can think of are [name]Jacqueline[/name] or [name]Johanna[/name]… What type of name would you describe [name]Jacqueline[/name] as? [name]How[/name] about [name]Johanna[/name]? We have an [name]Audrey[/name] (3 y-o)and a [name]Luke[/name] (1-y-o) already. The first name to go with these middle names is “[name]Claire[/name] ___”. Can’t decide which is more fitting for the style of the names.
[name]Jacqueline[/name] seems more traditional where as [name]Johanna[/name] is a bit edgier.
It’s kind of funny because my cousin is [name]Jacqueline[/name] ([name]Jackie[/name]) and has a daughter [name]Johanna[/name] (called [name]Joey[/name]).
I think [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Luke[/name] & [name]Claire[/name] are a great sibset!
I think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] seems to go better style-wise but [name]Claire[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] seems to flow better.
Other names that might honor [name]Jack[/name]/[name]John[/name]:
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Jocelyn[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Jaclyn[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Joan[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Joanne[/name]
[name]Jaqueline[/name] sounds very feminine and French, but a little uptight. [name]How[/name] would you pronounce it, [name]Jack[/name]-[name]Lyn[/name] or Jah-cleen?
[name]Johanna[/name] sounds sweeter but more ethnic [name]German[/name].
I think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Jaqueline[/name] looks better because they’re both french names but I don’t think they sound good together if [name]Jaqueline[/name] is pronounced [name]Jacklyn[/name].
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] flows really well but they’re not the same style of name. But if it was between the two I’d go with [name]Johanna[/name]. Its such a great name.
[name]Joanna[/name] is a more English spelling of [name]Johanna[/name]
You could also try [name]Josephine[/name]. I know its a feminization of [name]Joseph[/name] but you get the J name and “[name]Jo[/name]” out of [name]John[/name].
[name]Jacqueline[/name] sounds classy and pretty. In graduate school, I know at least 4 of them and they are all very put together.
I’ve only ever met one [name]Johanna[/name]… but she was basically trailer trash, so I think I have a bias against the name.
I think [name]Claire[/name] sounds fine with either of them. I don’t think either name flows better or fits [name]Claire[/name]'s style any better.
[name]How[/name] would your pronounce [name]Johanna[/name]? I know two: one girl who pronounces it [name]Jo[/name]-[name]Hannah[/name] and another that pronounces it [name]Jo[/name]- Hah-na. Of all three, my favorite is [name]Claire[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] ([name]Jo[/name]-Hah-na) then [name]Claire[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] then [name]Claire[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] ([name]Jo[/name]-[name]Hannah[/name])
I would describe [name]Jacqueline[/name] as a “new classic” name whereas [name]Johanna[/name] is an “old classic” name. I prefer [name]Claire[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] as a combo and I think it’s a better “match” with [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Luke[/name]. [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Luke[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] are a lovely trio!
I love absolutely love your style and think [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Luke[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] are gorgeous together!
I vote for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Johanna[/name] and also really like the suggestion of [name]Claire[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] which seems a little more spunky modern to me.
