I think it would be better on a boy but I haven’t met a male [name_f]Jade[/name_f]. It is kind of rough on a girl and just nice for a boy. He could use [name_u]Jay[/name_u] if he didn’t like the girl thing.
The only [name_f]Jade[/name_f] I have known was my cousin, [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] [name_f]Jade[/name_f], so my first reaction is female.
But being a nature/color name I feel like it can go either way and I wouldn’t be put off by a little boy [name_f]Jade[/name_f].
I’m asking because I just started a new job (since DH is on parental leave & pushing me to go back to work) & I’m working with a guy named [name_f]Jade[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] boss said “[name_f]Jade[/name_f] will be here to show you the ropes” & I just assumed it would be a woman. Got in & was a bit (pleasantly) surprised to see [name_f]Jade[/name_f] was a man. Also I apparently went to high school with him. What are the odds.
In Australia, [name_f]Jade[/name_f] is definitely female, it was quite common as a first name where I live during the 90s. So now, having finished high school, I hear it quite often. [name_f]Jade[/name_f]'s parents must have really loved the name.
