James Aidan McCoy?

My husband and I are expecting our first child at the end of [name_u]December[/name_u] and have already been thinking names (since before conception). We are McCoys and my husbands scottish & Irish roots are strong. I love [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] and while we would keep it as a technical middle name it would be what we would call our son. Is it’s boring? Is the original spelling (2 a’s) weird? What are your impressions? Thanks!

[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], love [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], and definitely prefer the spelling [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] as well.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!

I think the name [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is lovely. Wonderful choice. However, if you plan to call [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], why not use it as a first?? I know people that go solely by their middle name and most fans it confusing and unnecessary…

I love [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]! I don’t care for the uber popular [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] if he will be called by his middle name.

[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Kieran[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Euan[/name_m] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Duncan[/name_m] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m]

[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] sounds fantastic. I prefer [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] over the other Anglicized and/or butchered spellings of this name.

[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] is fantastic ! I definitely like the “[name_u]Aidan[/name_u]” spelling over the other possible ones, too.

[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] [name_m]McCoy[/name_m] is lovely. I agree with a pp, why not give him the first name [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] if that’s what you plan to call him?

30 years ago I’d tell you that this is a lovely, rare choice with Irish charm. Unfortunately today all I can do is echo others with the fact that [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is overdone and every other -ayden spin off is over done to the point of ludicrous proportions and I suggest calling him [name_u]James[/name_u], or maybe switching the combo and calling him A.J. Of course, [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] is still a lovely name despite its popularity and if that doesn’t bother you then you’ve made an excellent choice!

[name_u]Aidan[/name_u] > all other spellings

I adore [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], and I totally agree with your decision to go with the traditional [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] spelling. It’s popular, but will always sound handsome and on the classic side. [name_u]James[/name_u] is super popular, very classic and a wonderful, strong name - a personal favourite of mine.
