Although we don’t know if we are having a boy or girl, we [name_f]DO[/name_f] know that we love simple, sweet, elegant, feminine [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. If we have a girl, we will likely choose [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
Thinking ahead (perhaps way way ahead) I have no clue what I’d choose for a future sister for [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. I don’t know if any of the other names on my list feel quite right…
But I don’t think I’d want to go with another super-classic, like [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
What would you name a sister for [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? I really am curious. [name_f]Do[/name_f] any of the names on my list work well to make a sibset with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]?
Thank you for your thoughts on this! My pregnant-brain is just flooded with all things [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] is really lovely, it’s on my own short list so I’ve already spent a bit of time thinking about potential sibsets including [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
From your list, I quite like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], yes, there is a difference is length but they have a similar to-the-point, no fuss, feminine and light feel to them.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is nice, too, though a bit too heavy for me (next to [name_f]Jane[/name_f] that is); [name_f]Vera[/name_f] seems to be from a different time than [name_f]Jane[/name_f], it’s currently picking up in popularity yet it still feels slightly dated and not timeless to me.
[name_u]Marian[/name_u] also seems to be too heavy, not in the same way as [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], just that it feels slightly dated (I actually can imagine sisters [name_f]Vera[/name_f] & [name_u]Marian[/name_u] well together).
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] works too but gives the set a very modern vibe.
I love so many of your suggestions, especially [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].
I don’t think you are limited to super-classic names at all! I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is very versatile and goes well with so many names. I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] & [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] (sweet & spunky & non frilly feminine), [name_f]Jane[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (elegant, pretty, sweet) and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] & [name_u]Marian[/name_u] (classic, simple, elegant). Others that come to mind with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]:
@lisaahs - I love your suggestions of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is lovely too, but I have a cat called [name_f]Alice[/name_f]!
@maurab - I agree, and think you put it perfectly when you said that [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is versatile. I quite like your suggestions of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Elise[/name_f] too, though it is my middle name.
@maimouse - I love [name_f]Florence[/name_f], and have just recently added it to my list. My husband (incredibly) likes [name_f]Florence[/name_f] too, and says it is one to consider for next time. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] are very pretty too.
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a very special name. Its great that you are so happy with your choice. From your suggestions, I like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] for much the same reasons as @opheliaflora. These two names give you individuality for two ‘strong’ women. I prefer this to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] type classics ( although [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is lovely)-because there is an element of ‘matching’ which [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] transcends.
I hope you can really enjoy all things [name_f]Jane[/name_f] -as you say - and by the time a sister is here, you will have found that either [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], or very many other names will be perfect,
Best wishes.
