Jane, Jean, Joan or June?

Just wondering, if you had to name a daughter with one of these, which one and why? You can also rank or rate them.

Fun fact: In the Christmas classic movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” some of the supporting parts were played by sisters and the sibset was: Jane, Jean, Joan and June

I’d go with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!

Funny, I was just thinking about how [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]Jan[/name_u], [name_f]Jen[/name_f], [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_u]Joan[/name_u], [name_m]Jon[/name_m], and [name_u]June[/name_u] made use of practically every vowel sound. [name_u]June[/name_u] is my favorite, it’s so summery and bright and a family name.

[name_u]Joan[/name_u]! Hasn’t quite made a comeback with the general populace (at least in the US), but I love it.

I’d actually use all of them, as well as [name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] (with the [name_u]French[/name_u] ZHAN pronunciation).

  1. [name_u]June[/name_u]
  2. [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
  3. [name_u]Joan[/name_u]
  4. [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
  1. [name_u]June[/name_u]
  2. [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
  3. [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
  4. [name_u]Joan[/name_u]

[name_u]June[/name_u] has that summer nature vibe and a hint of 60s cool :blossom:

[name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Jane[/name_f] after Miss [name_u]Austen[/name_u] :womans_hat: [name_u]Jean[/name_u] also feels retro cool.

[name_u]Joan[/name_u] would actually be an honour for me but I don’t love the sound of it.

Definitely [name_u]June[/name_u]. It also reminds me of [name_f]Goddess[/name_f] [name_u]Juno[/name_u], a definitely strong figure.

They all have slightly different vibes for me. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] has a simple elegance (much like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Austen’s Regency). [name_u]June[/name_u] is vibrant and summery. [name_u]Jean[/name_u] feels bookish and Scottish, very midcentury. [name_u]Joan[/name_u] is tomboyish and spunky. I think [name_f]Joanie[/name_f] is adorable.

For me it would be [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_u]Joan[/name_u].

[name_u]Joan[/name_u] reminds me of [name_u]Joan[/name_u] of [name_m]Arc[/name_m]. So I imagine someone badass. [name_u]June[/name_u] is pretty and well reminds me of [name_u]June[/name_u] and the summer.
I’m not too keen on [name_u]Jean[/name_u] or [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] feel a bit insipid

I would pick [name_f]Jane[/name_f] for a first name and [name_u]Jean[/name_u] for a middle name! [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is such a pretty and timeless girl name, but I feel like it gets lost in the middle as it’s so common.

I’d go with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] cause I am a big [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] enthusiast and I love the simplicity and elegance of the name!
[name_f]My[/name_f] second favorite is [name_u]June[/name_u].

i would choose june or jane

i absolutely love all 4! they’re all on my list and i would use all of them if i could but if i had to pick one it would be june!! its so soft and beautiful, not too dated but not too popular!

I think I’d go with [name_u]June[/name_u]! It’s a warm, summery name, vintage, friendly and stylish too. I like the potential nicknames [name_f]Junie[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] Bug too. Plus, [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and [name_u]Joan[/name_u] have all been used in my family so I’d probably avoid them.

  2. [name_u]Jean[/name_u]
  3. [name_u]June[/name_u]
  4. [name_u]Joan[/name_u]

I love them all but I think I’d go with [name_u]Joan[/name_u]! I absolutely love [name_u]Joni[/name_u] / [name_f]Joanie[/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

[name_f]My[/name_f] Grandma’s name was [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and she was born in [name_u]June[/name_u], making these two very special to me! I prefer the sound of [name_u]June[/name_u], I think, so I’d have a little [name_u]June[/name_u] :hibiscus: :smiling_face_with_tear: [name_u]Joan[/name_u] takes third place - confident, capable [name_u]Joan[/name_u]! I also like that [name_u]Jo[/name_u] could be her nickname. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] has not sparkled for me yet. One day the right association will show me [name_f]Jane[/name_f] in a new light and it’ll happen!

They are all lovely!

I think I am more inclined to use [name_u]June[/name_u] as a first name as I like the summery happy disposition of the name :sunflower:

[name_f]Jane[/name_f] ties [name_u]June[/name_u] >>> [name_u]Jean[/name_u] >>>>>> [name_u]Joan[/name_u]

These are fun to think about in a set of four! They’re really all lovely, despite my personal favorites ranking.
