Janelily, Junelily, or Jadelily?

I taught a little girl in France named L!ly-J@de (pn li-lee-zhahd in French) and I still really love it! my favorites here are Junelily and Jadelily.

given other words like daylily and waterlily, I feel like any one-word smoosh name with lily should make sense as a flower. so from the list, I like:

Maylily
Rainlily
Skylily
Bluelily
Snowlily
Starlily
Stormlily
Foxlily
Graylily
Dunelily

as hyphenated or double names, I like:
Maeve Lily
Wren Lily
Blake Lily
Jane Lily
Banks Lily
Scout Lily

eta because I read some of your other comments, any smoosh name with Lily would make me think the parents loved flowers, perhaps were even botanists or florists :smiling_face_with_tear:

I wish she liked this name, I could totally see myself having a little L!ly-J@de. but names on her list make me want to cry with how they would absolutely get bullied (Puppy is on her list because her logic is that if [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] can be used, Puppy should be able to be used also)

you would think so, but I guess the logic behind it is that [name_f]Lily[/name_f] has been established as a name for so long I can separate it from the flower (as with [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and Rose). my mom went to horticulture college so I consider it to be a bit of an honor to her also (also why I have Jameslily on my list, [name_m]James[/name_m] is my dads name)

Lol! That’s one interesting list :joy:
I actually quite like [name_m]Whiskey[/name_m] on a girl & [name_m]Ghost[/name_m] for a boy :see_no_evil:

Those aren’t the bad ones lol, her top name right now is [name_f]Bloodrayne[/name_f]

Junelily my fave

I like Lily-Jane, Lily-June, etc., more than Janelily/Junelily etc., but I do find Janelily quite likable? I think she’s my favorite of the bunch. I’m not a [name_f]Jade[/name_f] fan, sorry.

you have no idea how much I wished my girlfriend liked these names, she says their too normal

Aww what a shame! I do find Janelily really lovely, but it reminds me of Zulily? It got bought out a while back but they sold clothes (maybe just kids’ clothes? I don’t remember… I only ever bought one thing from them, and it was a blouse for a little girl).

I wonder if a more unusual second option would feel more interesting, like Lily-Snow or Lily-Pearl? What kind of names does she like? lol

well these are the names on her list that don’t make me cry with how terrible they are

Puppy (she says it can be used because [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] and [name_f]Bunny[/name_f] can be used)
[name_f]Bloodrayne[/name_f]
[name_m]Ghost[/name_m]
[name_m]Whiskey[/name_m]

she doesn’t want [name_f]Lily[/name_f] as a first name because we know about five Lily’s

Wow. I feel like I’ve walked into one of those “this would be cute if it were a name” videos I’ve seen all over social media. :joy::joy:. Things like Calorie and Feta etc.

Well I’m sure Lily won’t cut it next to Puppy and Bloodrayne lol. How does she feel about more unusual word names? Seems like she likes word names, anyway… like:

Kismet
Thessaly
Oriole
Sunflower
Crysanthemum
Jonquil
Clarimond
Novella
Poesy (poh es ee)
Victorine

Some of them aren’t really word names but felt like the right vibes… I’ve sort of derailed the thread at this point but hopefully it’s not the opposite of helpful :joy::joy:

Good luck!

I feel like that every day :joy:

I don’t mind them, I’d just rather not use them. we’re trying to avoid flowers (we both don’t like them very much) but Novella and Kismet are cute. my girlfriend likes names that get attention if that makes sense. her name is one that is kinda hard to pronounce, and she likes when people ask her about it, she thinks our kids will like it when they get asked about why their named frigging Whiskey Sunshine or something
